Pint at Brewers Cooperative. This is everything a Pacific IPA should be. There’s tropical fruit and citrus and a big hop hit. Absolutely on style and oh so tasty.

Taster at brother’s beer. Sweet smell and a really well rounded flavour. Sweet and bitter notes dancing around fruit. Ends with a nice sharp note.

500ml bottle into schooner glass. Fresh pineapple/cream nose. Clear bronze beer with thin white head. Low carbonation. Flat cleansing mouthfeel, medium body. Finish is subdued pine needles, very late bitter lemon. An IPA that whispers, doesn’t shout. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Pale gold with a large white head. Gooseberry and under-ripe passionfruit aroma. didn’t get a lot of citrus - some mandarins, I suppose. Fairly dry with hay, minerals, fruity hops as mentioned. Moderate bitterness fades gradually. Not quite as assertive as some Kiwi pils but nicely put together with enough support for the hops and nice moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Very clear pale amber with a white head. grapefruit, kumquat, gooseberry, some pine, lesser tropical notes - mango, pineapple. The balance of hoppy aroma suits me: not too much of the lush tropical notes, plenty of grass/ gooseberry and US citrus and pine. Sweet with some tropical fruit, not a great deal of malt, but there’s a slight toastiness to it. Moderate to high bitterness. Good, but lacks character (no doubt deliberately).

Taste at TAP thanks to Chris. Honey amber pour with apple hoppy aroma. Taste is, as expected, like an NZ hopped session IPA. Fruity hops, very light crisp palate. A bit empty. Solid.
