Pint at Vultures’ Lane. Really quite tart. Extremely refreshing and clean. No pretensions, just a great Berliner Weisse.

Taster at Vultures’ Lane. Very dark. Surprisingly refreshing, without the creaminess I expect from a coffee stout, with lots of coffee and a very clean finish.

On tap at Alehouse Project, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops upfront, with some stone fruits and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is very fresh, with loads of piney hops upfront, a touch of fruitiness and bone dry biscuity malt. Loads of pine on the finish. Excellent.

Bottle. Clear mid amber with a modest whit head. The nose is not delicate at all: quite a lot of pine, some toasty caramel, apricot, some herbs. Light bodied - a bit thin for 5.7% really. Lowish carbonation. Pine is a lot less prominent after that first sniff. Toasty and not that sweet with tropical and stone fruit, flowers. Gently drying and moderately bitter finish. Odd beer - the first whiff seemed rambunctiously hoppy and then it all rather subsided after that. The malt side of things seemed more suited to an amber lager than an IPA and overmatched the hop aromatics and bitterness.

Ruddy brown with and off white head. Aroma is medium chocolate, citrus hops, medium caramel malt. Flavor follows the aroma path. Has a nice bitter finish. Enjoyable.
