Description
In 2017 we opened doors to our brewery and proeflokaal located in Amsterdam Oost. Our dream was to bring back and celebrating historic Dutch craft beers and the people who brewed them. Since then we've seen this dream come to a reality with the launch of our historic Van Vollenhoven series, reviving recipes made in the Netherlands at the Brewery De Gekroonde Valk from 1733 to 1945 and with our modern brews that draw inspiration from the old brewery employee's

At Bar Oorlam: pours light orange with a white head. Aroma is spicy, fruity. Not quite a tripel, but fine.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 14 Feb 2024) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby. Creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Light body, dry. On the thin side, but tasty and highly drinkable. Nice one.

Can at home shared with Laura and Dutchdrebus. Dark brown to black color, small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, hops, dark malt bitter and hop bitters. Very well balanced I must say, one of the few good Black IPA's I've had. Very solid.

Not a 100% sure I've got the correct one but the ABV checks out, it's just that the letters on the label aren't pink / purple but orange. Anyway: can at home. Darker but clear orange color, white head. Aroma and flavor are malts, resinous, resinous hops, hoppy bitterness. Very very pleasant, very full bodied as well for a pale ale of only 5.7%. Very pleasantly surprised.
