Description
In 2017 we opened doors to our brewery and proeflokaal located in Amsterdam Oost. Our dream was to bring back and celebrating historic Dutch craft beers and the people who brewed them. Since then we've seen this dream come to a reality with the launch of our historic Van Vollenhoven series, reviving recipes made in the Netherlands at the Brewery De Gekroonde Valk from 1733 to 1945 and with our modern brews that draw inspiration from the old brewery employee's

Can. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Herbal, roasted malt, coffee. Taste: Dense and very smooth mouthfeel. Mix of roasted malt, coffee notes, subtle herbal Rosemary notes and very light salty hints and floral hop. Over moderate to medium sweet, over moderate bitterness. Full body, below average carbonation. Long lasting bittery and dry-ish finish. Very nice.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before November 2025. Hazy, golden with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity-floral, minimally dank aroma of passion fruit, pineapple and some green peppers. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, quite fruity-floral and minimally dank taste of passion fruit, pineapple, gooseberry and hints of green pepper, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly dry, almost watery finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid.

Can at home. Deeper brown pour with a tan head. Nose and taste are caramel, toasted malts, lots of molasses. Barely any roasted notes and virtually no smoke. It’s also lacking in depth, the body is light, with a soft carbonation. Not really what it promises to be.

Can at home. Pours orangeish semi-hazy (at max, almost clear), weird looks for a hazy ipa. No popping flavours, little to no hop character, there’s some underlying sweetness, but that’s it. Body is also weird, drinks like fairly high pH somehow. Huuuge meh.
