Tap at Maxs. This is a classic brown ale. Big, rich molasses taste. Unfiltered brown body. Thin oily off-white head. Very thick, sugary, a really bold example of the style. Excellent, one of the best US brown ales out there.

3oz pour at Max’s Belgian Fest 2014. Looks like mud in the glass. Zero head. Nose is boozy, rotten banana, nail polish. Flavor is the same, trashy, boozy, rotten fruit. Too much all around.

3oz pour at Max’s Belgian Fest 2014. Pours a clear gold with some thin, white head. Nose has peach, candy sugar, plum. Flavor has grain alcohol, peach, apricot, candy sugar, clove. Boozy finish. Solid.

Bottle at last night room share - RBWG Asheville. Pours amber with off white head. Nose and taste of toffee, candied resin, dark fruit and vanilla. Lighter medium body -for the style.

Bottle courtesy of sonnycheeba, thanks! Hazy to cloudy golden yellow color, fluffy white head, solid lacing. Aroma of dusty barnyards and a bit of booze. Taste is smooth lemon, subtle anise. Interesting.

Draft. Hazy amber color, medium white head. Aroma is very fruity, earthy, with a bit of spice. Taste is lightly spiced summer fruit. Very tasty.

750ml bottle pours a hazy caramel amber with some spitty, off white head. Nose has a lot of caramel, some roasted carrot and parsnip, lots of booze, whiskey, malt. Flavor is ok, malt, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, booze, a little corn. Boozy finish.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a light white head. Aroma is mild roasted notes, some dried fruits. Flavor was notes of dark fruits, notes of figs. Some nice sweet notes. Booooze.
