Description
Good in brewing beer. Bad in writing bios. Madness from Budapest challenging almost everything you know about beer. Always flawless, always bold, never boring. Not necessary business-wise all the time, but setting the standards high for ourselves every time as we truly believe in the cliché that goes like ‘the way you do something is the way you do anything’.

Bottled, shared with Zvone. Dark amber body. Dry malty aroma, with sewery notes sadly, something's off here, Clean, dry grainy malty taste, light light caramel perhaps, lean, vaague citric touches too, but, again, that mild, light sewery note shows up, though less than in the aroma. The other bottle they've tried apparently had similar issues. Will rerate at some point I hope, but like this, it's just nowhere near on par with beers from this great Hungarian brewery.

Bottle, shared with Zvone. Clear orange-amber body with a white head. Candy-orange hoppiness on some maltiness. Clean, lean, candied orange / tangerine hoppiness with a well integrated good herbal notes, some caramel touches. So drinkable and light, clean and not alcoholic for the abv, definitely a well crafted beer, it ends up more conservative than expected hop-wise, but one cannot deny how good it actually is.

Bottle, shared with Zvone! We were looking forward the most to trying this as it fared the best on a previous Mad Scientist tasting, but... you'll see. Initially a lovely, lovely mango juice aroma that, at times, deteriorates into miiiiild puke touch, nothing too bad, but annoying because otherwise the fruitiness is so great. Still juicy in the taste, lovely in that aspect, it has a herbal bitterish finish that came more up front during that time (spent in a fridge!) and kinda clashes, especially as it builds up into a long bitter finish. Initially a winner, not too long after, it just doesn't thrill as much. A winner perhaps, but a very, very sensitive one, overly so. Hope to try it again though.

Bottle, shared with Zvone. Poured a misty dull golden body, white head. Fantastic soft citric, mostly lemongrass aroma, so juicy and soft. More of that excellent soft citric/lemongrassy juicy and ghummy taste, so fresh, ending light and, you guessed it, juicy, good carbonation, clean, moreish, refreshing and tasty. Mad Scientist in all honesty has a fantastic, world class summer beer here!

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A hazy dark amber beer with a huge most good lasting beige head. Aroma of strong riped fruits, cinnamon, red fruits, red malt, some pumpkin fruits. Taste of strong riped fruits, red malt, pumpkin, spices, slightly boozy.

Hazy amber with little white head. Aroma is banana dough green stuff maybe a hint of vanilla phenolic esters. Very green mostly. Taste is green and estery. Quite sour a bit murky. Finish is green and yeasty. Good body. Maybe a less green weizen would have been more suited for a vanilla infusion. Still a pleasant beer!

Many thanks to Werckmeister for this bottle! Roasted fruity nose. The beer starts intense thick and smooth sweetish. Herbal parts, very fruity with a nice herbal spicy pumpkin fruity aftertaste. Very dense and deep in aroma, round and very refreshing for that ABV. Deep and fantastic flavourful!

0.33l bottle from Kézműves Csemege in Budapest, 790 ft. pours a murky dirty orange with a small head, especially for a weizen. aroma of banana chocolate biscuit, maybe some vanilla. flavour of banana and biscuit again, more vanilla, a bit earthy. no sourness or bitterness, flat carbonation. not bad, even if quite different from what you would expect from a typical weizen.
