Grainy with light pepper. Finish is toasty. Medium bodied. It’s fine but a little meh.

Bayrischer Anstich, Hopdog 4th Birthday. Hazy dark amber, white foam. Fairly grainy,, fairly dusty aroma. Brioche and caramel flavor, diacityl notes, some stickiness, I am not sure I wanted that much buttery caramel with my chicken.

Tap at HopDog, bayerischer Anstich. Murky copper gold. Nice cold fresh butter on fresh bread - as it should be. Hint of bubblegum. Soft and chewy buttery bread. Full body. Nothing to hide. It's good if you like malty and yeasty butter. I've never been to one of those waffel places, but I assume if you arrive at 4 in the morning you get old chewy waffles with microwave reheated fried chicken, caramel sauce, and a vanilla waver. Or this beer.

500 ml bottle. Unclear orange with a fluffy head. Hay, malt, grass, zesty resinous hops, lemon zest, slightly metallic, slightly buttery, bit vanilla, stone fruit. Hoppy bitterness, grainy malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry hoppy zesty grassy bitter sweet finish. An excellent unfiltered Pilsner.

Bottle picked up from Landbierparadies Webshop, Nürnberg and consumed at home Wednesday 18th January 2023 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6 Music, we had a very nice Salmon meal with a Pomegranate, Red Onion and Mint Salsa. Pours cloudy chestnut brown with a dirty large off white head.Wow this is so bitter, really bitter, fruity and with a real tang. Soft moutheel, some caramel and a citrussy edge. Still cannot get over how staggeringly bitter this beer is, particularly for the style, I really am super surprised at this, it has a very lengthy dry finish. I know that there will be many who'd argue that this is not right for the style, sometimes you have to look beyond that and think wow this is just an amazing beer that's a rather extreme version of the style.

Hennemann - Lagerbier, Flasche vom Landbierparadies24. (17.6.2021.)
