Tap at brewery. Pours golden. Aroma is pretty nil, some hints of citrus, but very light. Flavor is bitter grapefruit rind, like very bitter - as in eating just the white rind. Not a lot of other flavor, perhaps because the bitterness is overwhelming. The description notes it’s juiciness and mild bitterness. So unless this was switched with something else, this is a tad bit bitterer than mild. Note: going thru the menu this can’t have been switched. It’s the only one that makes sense (knowing the other beers).

Tap at brewery. Pours murky brownish. Nice sour/tart aroma with hints of earth and wood, and cherry. Oh this is nice. Not overly tart, smooth, earthy and some dark cherry. Very well done.

Can thnx to an american visitor. Thnx man ! Pours rather unclear blonde, small white head. Smell is very mild creamy maltyness. Touch of hoppy freshness, but very unintense. Taste is far less hoppy than youd expect from the style. Malts are between coockie dough and white bread. Touch of bitterness, not much hoppyness in general. Still ok, just more of a pale ale, really.

12 oz can poured into a tulip. Canned on 2/16/2017. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, milk chocolate like those chocolate shell Easter Bunnies, some coffee, caramel. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, light cocoa, subtle coffee. Medium body with a dry finish. Better than Stone’s version.

Can: Grass nose, with pine and cocoa on the edges. Cloudy amber, thick head. Lemongrass, orange, moss. Medium body, soft carbonation. Chocolate and coffee not very apparent, they provide more of an earthy quality that supports the beer rather than plays lead.

Clear copper and light amber coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of assertive grassy and very resinous hops with some light malt notes, but absolutely no chocolate or coffee scents noticeable at all. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong resinous and very grassy hop flavours show strong at first with some good malt notes, a light yeastie complexity and signs of sweetness with oranges and apricots noticeable along with a bit of light toffee and caramelised sugars noticeable at the end. Aftertaste is bitter with the hops really coming out and balanced fairly well by the malts, but this is not showing any coffee or chocolate, which perhaps is a good thing? Overall, a decent Imperial IPA with more of a traditional feeling showing a good amount of alcohol, but not double-digits and a smooth malt bite with a lot of hops, but nothing crazy at all. Perhaps that doesn’t fit in with the beer industry the way it is today, but it’s not bad, and I do not really miss the chocolate or coffee - and if you are trying to decide on this one, pretend those words simply aren’t there. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 24-April-2017 for US$2,49 sampled at home a few metres from the store, just four days later on 28-April-2017, super fresh.
