Description
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

Can to lager glass.
Appearance: semi-hazy burnt yellow color with a big fluffy white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some subtle lace
Aroma: sweet grains, floral to sweet grassy hops; light biscuity/bready tones underneath
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly sweet with a mild floral hop tone; no aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessiomable; feels pretty smooth along the tongue; finishes sweet with the floral to grassy hops and light breadiness
Overall: I say a nicely done easy drinking lager I would be willing to come back to.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: glossy burnt yellow/almost copper color with a one and a quarter fingers of white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: citrusy to freshly cut grass to tart lemon characters with some Brett, light acidic to woody tones
Flavor: bright tart to sour tones with an ample sweet fruity vibe underneath; mild aftertaste of lemon and clean sweet woody tones
Texture: medium bodied, some tartness brushes the tongue as I expected it to with a light clean acidity but not bothersome; finishes dry, woody sweet and a brush of lemon
Overall: very nicely done saison I would very much like to revisit.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: pink to light purple color with a two finger off white to semi-pink foamy head which dissipated to leave some light lace
Aroma: berries and plum sweet and tart character up front with a mild vanilla/wafery malty underneath
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly tart with an ample sweet undertone and a light sour character; mild aftertaste of plums and berries
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; the smoothness seems to be somewhat balanced with some of the tart grip on the tongue - I like that! Finishes with the berry tartness and some vanilla-like character
Overall: nicely balanced pastry sour I believe I could come back to.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: burnt orange haziness with a two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: melony to apricot and tangerine-like hoppy tones over top of some clean malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas bittersweetly and juicy with a mild aftertaste of melon-esque and tangerine hop qualities
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper, nice low carb, smooth along the tongue, finishes somewhat juicy through the melon and apricot
Overall: pretty nicely done NEIPA I would have again.

Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: dull violet/purple color with a swiftly dissipating head which didn't leave any lace.
Aroma: lots of cherries - sweet to tart to sour to earthy tones - all meshing with a light acidic to lemony underlying hint, subtle woody to funky and light Brett-like character
Flavor: blends all those prior noted aromas together to a sour to tart and semi-sweet mixture; mild aftertaste of cherries and funky/woody tones
Texture: medium bodied, yes - this is a sipper! The tart and sour vibes are emboldened enough to get somewhat wicked on the tongue, finishes with the cherry - sweet, tart and sour character
Overall: I liked this beer, it's a very well done beer with that old school sour character to help things real in this day and age. This beer is not for the faint of heart.

Bottle: Poured a clear reddish color aler with a medium size foamy head with light retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes with some funky ester with some nice raspberry notes and grapes. Taste is also a mix of grapes and raspberry notes with some vinous notes and tart funky ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well done wild ale with a nice mix of balanced flavours and no strong acidic notes.

Can: Poured a hazy/cloudy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones with some peachy notes and a semi-dry finale. Taste is also a good mix of citrusy hoppy notes with some juicy floral hops undertones with peachy notes and a semi-dry finish. Body is full for style with a creamy feel with good carbonation. Enjoyable NEIPA but I am not the biggest fan of peacherine hops strain.

A hazed milky purple ale with a thin lacing creamy light purplish head. In aroma, sweet fruity mix of tart berries, dark fruits, light Epsom salts, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart mix of blueberry, light acidity, Epsom salts, very nice. On tap at Dominion City.
