0.33 l bottle from 'Rudat', best before July 2019. Clear, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, moderately grassy and a little floral aroma of grains, some straw and traces of vanilla. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, a bit malty, gently grassy and a little floral taste of grains, some straw and a touch of vanilla, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy and a little musty finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid Export, nothing spectacular and just as boring as the style.

Tight off white head left a collar on a dark mahogany coloured, finely carbonated body. Coca Cola & plum aroma. Medium to thin bodied, highly carbonated over the tongue with thin clean back & sticky aft. Heavy tastes of malt, caramel, bonfire toffee, butterscotch & sweet undefined fruit tastes. Tastes much fuller than the ABV.

Tap: Deep amber coloured with a ruby sheen, smaller stable off-white head, moderate bitter-sweet malty-toasty nose with a herbal-hoppy background and some fruity spots; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, sticky as usual from DBB; lingering bitter-caramelly finish with balancing dark malt in the aftertaste. One of the better DBB brews…
