Description
Illinois' largest independent craft brewery. Brewed in the heart of Chicago.

The change in the U.S. beer scene has undoubtedly been revolutionary. We are proud of what we have accomplished in our short time to become a leader and innovator in the industry. The evolving tastes of beer drinkers has demanded bigger flavors, more variety, and better beer. That’s exactly what we give you at Revolution Brewing. Between our brewery and our brewpub, we produce dozens of different beer styles every year. IPAs, porters, pilsners, Belgian-style ales, pale ales, barrel-aged beers — the list goes on!

Our brewery has been a labor of love. You can see it in everything we do, from the beautiful details of our mahogany bar at the brewpub, to the massive beauty of our eight 800 barrel fermenters at the brewery, to the commitment to quality in each beer that we put in a can or a keg. Revolution believes in the value of hard work. We work hard to provide great, accessible brews for everyday people. We have fun doing what we do and hope you have fun drinking our beers!

22 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, apple, pear, pepper, clove, cracker, bread, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance of hop, malt, and fruity esters; with good strength. Taste of lemon, apple, pear, pepper, cracker, bread, floral, grass, herbal spiciness, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, light fruits, pepper, cracker, bread, floral, grass, and earthiness on the finish for a bit. Damn nice balance of malt, hop, and fruity ester flavors; with good flavor robustness, malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Pilsner! All around great balance of malt, hop, and ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Really enjoyed this one.

Enjoyed at Revolution Brewpub in Chicago, IL while celebrating my birthday. I didn’t take notes while imbibing, but I remember this being a pretty great oatmeal stout, sticks to the style but is done exceptionally well. Revolution continues to do a great job w/ their brews!
