Description
Illinois' largest independent craft brewery. Brewed in the heart of Chicago.

The change in the U.S. beer scene has undoubtedly been revolutionary. We are proud of what we have accomplished in our short time to become a leader and innovator in the industry. The evolving tastes of beer drinkers has demanded bigger flavors, more variety, and better beer. That’s exactly what we give you at Revolution Brewing. Between our brewery and our brewpub, we produce dozens of different beer styles every year. IPAs, porters, pilsners, Belgian-style ales, pale ales, barrel-aged beers — the list goes on!

Our brewery has been a labor of love. You can see it in everything we do, from the beautiful details of our mahogany bar at the brewpub, to the massive beauty of our eight 800 barrel fermenters at the brewery, to the commitment to quality in each beer that we put in a can or a keg. Revolution believes in the value of hard work. We work hard to provide great, accessible brews for everyday people. We have fun doing what we do and hope you have fun drinking our beers!

Bottle @ Dan’s house, courtesy of Armin. Thanks a bunch! Light golden orange appearance with a white head. Orange, floral, potpourri, a bit spicy, light straw, tasty aroma. Tangy, spicy, lemon/tangerine, a bit spicy yeasty, straw/grassy, very refreshing flavor. Fairly dry. Super easy drinking and fun to drink.

Big wheat glass at Revolution. Hazy unfiltered yellow tan. Clove, green hefe aroma, almost bitter and harsh. Quite lemony. An OK example, but not really even competing with a good German. Medium bodied. Grassy, herbal, an odd, imperfect variation.

Chunky amber-brown-black body. Lacy beige head. Rugged vanilla bean bourbon aroma. Rich, sweet, highly complex, relatively drinkable for the ABV too. Sugary smooth molasses richness. Deep vanilla. World Class, this is quite impressive, which it should be for 9.00 a mini snifter. Really quite smooth on the palate, an excellent slow sipper. Mild distant vanilla edged warmth in the finish. Deep bourbon resinous awesomeness.

Orange-tan, tulip glass. Dry lemon pepper aroma. Dry and sweet, with some underlying funkiness. Captures the style well, maybe leaning a little to the sweet side. Some twisted melon notes. A nice Saison, but not as nice as I remembered it being the first time. Quite peppery, yet sugary. OK.

Opaque black with a a side-lacing beige head. brutal port wine aroma. Quite brutal, the wine barrel tones overwhelm and dominate. Chocolate port win all the way. Faint cherry tones, but way overwhelmed. Brutal sour tobacco notes. Some chocolate shows up at it mellows and approaches room temperature. An interesting experiment, I can see how it would grow on you.

Filtered amber-brown. Thin white/off-white head. Fruity amber and brown malt aroma. A touch odd, bitter caramel tones, slight burnt taste. Clean on the palates, but some faint buttery off tones. Toasty, but doesn’t nail it.

Hazy orange-brown. Soapy, steady beige head. Chocolate banana aroma, similar taste. Mild and refreshing. Watery sweet finish. OK, true to style, but lacks much depth.
