Description
Grimm Artisanal Ales is a Brooklyn-based brewery founded in 2013 by Joe and Lauren Grimm after nearly a decade of tinkering with fermentation. Grimm specializes in concise, elegant ales epitomizing the creative, experimental spirit of the American artisanal beer revolution. With each limited edition release, we seek to push the boundaries of style and flavor in order to create beers with the utmost depth and complexity. For five years, Grimm operated as a nomadic brewery. Joe and Lauren would develop each recipe in the kitchen of their Gowanus apartment and travel to existing breweries near and far to craft their commercial beers.

Can from Total Wine in Vacaville, CA. Pours clear gold with a transient white head. Aroma of grapefruit and more. Med body. Pale malt support tho this is quite dry. More than enough bitter to balance the malt. Flavor is grapefruit/pine with a few other things. Hint of resin. Pretty good flavor.

Draught at Monk's: pours orange with small head. Aroma is peachy, lightly funky. Taste is moderately sour, somewhat funky. Not as complex as a blended would be I imagine. Sweetish. Lightly sour.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: soft golden cloudiness with a finger and a quarter's worth of white frothy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet to tart oak tones up front with some lemon candy; tart citrusy to bittersweet rind and some pine and dark berry-ish whiffs
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas together in a sweet to tart woody to citrusy quality; semi-dry finish of lemon candy and sweet oak
Texture: medium bodied; leaning towards being a sipper; subtle smoothness with ample tartness scaling back that smoothness a bit; good carb level
Overall: a very nicely done sour/wild ale which doesn't give off any pucker but gives me a very awesome feeling knowing how well this is brewed.

Undated can drunk 6/11/26.
Pleasant and well-done Mosaic hops add a good, spicy, lemongrass character. Cracker-like malts behind it, with no wort, weird sugar, oxidation, etc...
Hey wow, this isn't abysmally seltzery. Quite a good body, actually, for an NA beer, with a pinch of honey-like sweetness and excellent dry hop character adding mineral, chalk and actual hop. Would like a bit more blueberry or just more intensity to the hop, overall, but for a, let's say, West Coast Pale Ale, you could do much, much worse. There's a good balance and notable dry-hopping with no wort. The "malt" just tastes like honey, though.
