Toast-malty and distinctively nutty aroma with notes of caramel and a vaguely spicy hoppy touch. Moderately sweet and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost crisp carbonation. Dark and toasted malt character with nutty notes, caramel and bread crusts, backed by mildly herbal hoppy spice; dry-ish and toasty malty finish with lingering notes of caramel and a present bitter hoppy touch. 31.VIII.18

Fläschla: Deep ruby-amber coloured, clear, small and stable off-white head, sweetish caramelly-fruity nose, some toasted malt underneath, some herbal hops, just barely detectable; moderate sweet flavour with a light "woody" bitterness, medium bodied, a bit fizzy; lingering and drier caramelly finish with some metallic traces and a - surprise - lingering tannic bitterness in the aftertaste. Well drinkable, just not very well balanced...

"Wiethaler Bockbier hell", Flasche vom Landbierparadies, Nürnberg. - Helles Goldbraun, klar. - Gediegene Nase mit tiefem, leicht karamelligen Malz, dem man das lange Würzekochen anmerkt, und sehr dezenter fruchtig-süßer Hintergrundherbe. - Antrunk tief hellmalzig mit gediegener Karamelnote (Sahnebonbons) und zart rauchigen Anklängen. Gediegene Süße, ein wenig Honig. Dezente aber aromatische Hopfung mit Kräutern. Etwas stärker rezent als nötig, vollmundig und schwer. Im Abgang dominiert immer noch die üppige Malzigkeit, gekonnt abgerundet durch feine krautige Hopfenherbe. - Fein komponierter heller Bock von reicher Malzigkeit, der doch etwas kerniger gehopft sein könnte. So fehlt etwas ...

(bottle) Cloudy, brown colour with a beige and huge foamy head. Slightly nutty and toasted malty aroma with a mildly wheat character with notes of banana, caramel, chocolate and present phenolic spices in the background, reminding of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a mealy mouthfeel. Toast-malty start, mildly wheaty taste with caramel, chocolate, a moderate fruit character of banana and dried fruits/raisins, as well as a cornucopia of spicy flavours, which fit in quite well; moderately sweet and lasting finish. Very complex and well-crafted Weizenbock. 05.VI.18

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond mid-sized foamy head. Slightly strawy malty aroma with hints of honey, vanilla and dflowery, slightly grassy hops. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly strawy malt character with present notes of honey and a delicately grainy touch; moderately sweet malty finish with cautious floral and grassy hoppy notes. Decent. 03.VI.18

Tap. Hazy red-brown color with beige head. Aroma is nutty, earthy, quite rustic, juicy fruits. Taste is nutty, juicy fruits. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation, a bit metallic. Very good!
