Can - hazy light amber - moderate, well-sustained head - nose is heavy on the rye whiskey, with some underlying caramelized maltiness - medium body, soft texture - lightly sweet, with rich bready maltiness, bright fruity character - prominent but not overpowering whiskey - whiskey and caramelized malt finish - I’d like a bit more complexity, but it is decent, and retains a fair amount of the traditional Marzen character to avoid being a booze bomb.

Purchased at Total Wine in Tampa, FL solely based on the can art, but pleasantly surprised by how good this is. Bright gold with light head, floral and citrusy with light grapefruit notes, goes down with a nice bitterness. Very good for the style.

11th February 2023 Almost clear brown beer, a few darkish tan bubbles just about form a head. Smooth palate, doesn't feel heavy but there is a slight viscosity. Good fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, a little creamy chocolate and a nice smooth earthy coffee. Soft fruity bourbon but with a fairly spicy edge. The apple brandy comes through clearly on the back end along with smooth vanilla oak. Smooth finish has all the flavours coming together into a harmonious whole. Spicy linger. Bloody marvellous. Mystified by the many sub 4 ratings. Seriously? This is layered, rich but light and hugely drinkable for its 13%+ abv. Well each to their own, but they are plain wrong! 😁

Wow wafts of fruit from 2m away. Pours to a very cloudy bright yellow with a good 3cm head, good retention, fine-porous. Good hit of citrus on the nose, some pine, base of sweet Marmelade and some pear. Good body, fruit all the way, citrus, orange, pear, grapefruit. Thickish in the mouth, but still good. Nice lingering finish of citrus: not as bitter as I was expecting. Very good.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, cocoa, barrel - bourbon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, cocoa, chocolate, dark malt, roasted, caramel, sweet malt, barrel - bourbon. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20211023]

ABV: 8.0%. Murky medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, peach, fruity hops, sweet fruit, pineapple touch. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, wheat, sweet malt - fruity malt, tropical fruit, sweet fruit, pineapple touch. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20211023]

Bottle shared by MJ. Black with beige head. Quite a bit of vanilla, spicy rye, oak, chocolate. Slight heat.

Juicy, light. Another good Thin Man/Other Half collab.
