Keg at Liquid Dreams 26. Dark and glossy. Foamy beige head sticks to the rim. Aroma has cacao and mats. Coffee esque flavourwise with a bite. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Good stuff.

Keg at Liquid Dreams 26. Hazy-opaque gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. Aroma has stone fruit woth light herbs, lighter vinous element and underlying malts. Flavourwise it has a medium bitterness woth a spur edge. Stone fruit. Hops. Vinous notes and a sprinkle of herbs and spices. Underlying vanilla porridge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Dece but somehow antad flat of an experience.

New beer and new brewery to me. I have a 16 oz can that came from Half Time in New York late last year. For this tasting I have a tulip glass from Buffalo Bayou ready to receive. I see a highly charged, light gold-yellow body completed by a thin but steady cover of purely white foam. The nose is proper in the style, grain, citrus and a small touch of yellow fruit. I lift the glass and take a drink. Lemon and lime, grain, dry crackers, a slight hoppiness and perhaps some apricot. It is hard to stand out when brewing a kolsch.

Bottle shared round Dan and Megan’s. Inevitably it’s slick and oily. Lots of coffee and coconut. Slick and rich overall but there’s evidence throughout that this has gone a bit wonky and picked up a fair bug or two. Not as intended.

Bottle shared round Dan and Megan’s. Pours slick and tarry. Slim tan foam. Similarly slick and rich sweet and unctuous. Lots of chocolate vanilla and coconut. Pretty perfect beer to finish up a share. Dangerous gear.
