473 ml can. A gusher on opening (minus points), otherwise pours a dark copper with little residual head. Aromas of muddled fruit, bready malts and a good hint of hot peppers. Flavors of stewed fruit, trail mix and bready malts with some capsaicin and a bit of smoke coming through in the finish. Disppointing.

On tap at Storm, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Nose has a boatload of habanero, with little else to speak of. Flavour is intense, with a humongous amount of habanero—this is insanely spicy, like no one would really find this mild. There’s some sweetness underneath, but this is pretty much all habanero burn. A fun extreme beer to drink in tiny amounts.

On tap at Storm, pours a deep dark amber. Town with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of bergamot, light toasted malt, and some gentle sugars. Flavour is odd, with almost a pot-soaked earl grey character, toasted malt, and a touch of sugars. Very strange pot-like essence to the tea. Odd.

On tap at Storm, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma has tons of licorice, sugars, and various root beer-like spices. Flavour tastes like liquid root beer, with plenty of sugars. Not really stout- or beer-like, just thick boozy, sweet root beer. Doesn’t work for me.

On tap at Storm, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of bready malt and dry toasted caramel. Flavour is relatively dry and malty, with bready malt, toasted caramel malt, and a hint of residual sweetness. Nice malt character, clean, and drinkable. Good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear pale amber with a white head. Bready malts and dry caramel on the nose. Flavour has bready malts, dry caramel; decent carbonation. Pretty solid amber.

On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy blonde with a white head. Tons of habanero and mango on the nose. And fuck me that's a lot of habanero in the flavour. There's a bit of fruity mango in there, but that's just a ton of habanero spice. Absurdly spicy; a neat experiment but hard to enjoy in more than a small quantity.

On tap at the brewery. Pours deep dark brown with a beige head. Tons of earl grey on the nose. Flavour has earl grey and spent pot (?). Body is a bit thin and there's only a touch of roast. Not very well done.

On tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Lots of brown sugar and some cinnamon and allspice on the nose. Flavour has dark brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice. The spices would work better if there was more roast or body to support it. Not very good.

473 ml can. Pours a dull amber with moderate head. Aromas of soap, stoned fruit, hot peppers, and bready malts. Flavors follow same with additional candied pineapple but the finish is Habanero hot. Jeez… but not unexpected from James…
