Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a gold hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of straw with notes of flora, melon and a bit of chamomile supporting. Flavor starts full of straw but finish has a nice melon and flora note with a touch of chamomile coming through.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 3/23/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, licorice, smoke, leather, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, licorice, smoke, leather, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Light herbal/roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, nuts, dark/brown bread, light molasses/dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 10.9%, with zero barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Baltic porter! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Very clean lagering, not overly fruity. Very rich and complex malts, with awesome barrel integration/balance. Not overly roasty, bitter, or drying. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of bread with some sweet grains and a bit of toffee underlying. Flavor is similar with tons of sweet grains, bread and a touch of toffee backing.

Sampled from the bottle at Minnesota ABR 2018. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has some dark wheat notes an some sour dark fruits underlying. Flavor has sour berries and dark wheat with a bit of sweetness.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown from FlandersNed poured into a tulip. Brown with crimson hues and small beige head. Aroma is banana, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is dark fruit, banana, and some clove. Surprising good for an eight year old beer.

12oz bottle. Filtered looking, maybe some slight chill haze. Manages to capture the English feel with that toffee touched malt tone. Not really a fine example or anything, but not so offensive at the pricepoint. Drinkable session stuff, with the pendulum swinging back towards English sensibilities. A sort of generous 3.

12oz bottle. Filtered tan-orange body. Foamy white head. Sort of odd phenolic, plastic aroma that I am not enjoying. Cheap malt tones. Weak, antiquated stuff, even if they are attempting to be modern with whatever hop they butcher. Earthy American Wheat tones I guess if you are being nice. Pretty weak offering.

I had this on tap at Bockfest and from the bottle in the Peacock sampler. Brown color. Sweet malt aroma with dough. Mild continental hops. Light to medium sweetness and malt. This is pretty close to a beer you might have in Bavaria. The significant difference is the palate seems less thick than some continental examples.

Aroma is fresh Hops and fresh Dry Cereal. Nice for me frothy off-white long lasting head with lots of clingy lace. Flavor is somewhat like nose quite dry bitter and a bit on the Southside citric not very well balanced. Okay beer.

Tap at Starkeller. This beer has a very nice red_ purple color. A complex beer with fruit, acidity, and dry earthy flavors.elderberries are prominent and immediately I think of St Germain. Earthy, with white grape skin and tennis. Dry finish.
