"Lacada" is derived from Liach Fada. It means 'the longstone' and refers to a low, mean, rocky outcrop about 300 yards east of the world famous Giant's Causeway.
Lacada is a community owned Co-Operative brewery based on the world famous North Coast of Ireland. Lacada Brewery has its origins in a love of beer and brewing, a love of place, and a love of people. It began with a father and son brewing together and grew to become a group of co-operative minded, good beer loving aficionados.
5 years ago Lacada Brewery Co-operative started trading. It has been quite a journey thus far… We wouldn't be in the position we are in without all the support, faith, and hard work that our co-owners give to us. Now we are in a position to push Lacada into the future, and we want you to continue on that journey with us.
We believe that we need a locally brewed beer for this area, to augment and strengthen the visitor experience and to show off and bring out the best in our communities here. We have people joining from different ages, genders and beliefs - a wide and diverse community that comes together for great beer and socialising. That is where our Lacada Brewery Co-Operative is coming from and that is where we are going to and what we, with you involved, are going to do – Come Together!
440ml can in Bushmills in preparation for visiting Rathlin Island the next day. Unfortunately didn't see one of these native golden hares, only 4 on the island with blue eyes apparently! Hazed, almost murky golden amber, thin white head. Biscuity and then some.
Draught @ Lacada Brewery. Pours a slightly unclear gold. Decent dry cider.. not a huge amount of character, minimal tannin but pleasant fruity shades with a drying close.

Draught @ Lacada Brewery. Pours a deep gold, perhaps a light mist, small white head. Confident acetic character, fairly simplistic wild ale profile, light tang, moderate carbonation.. lacks a bristling, crisp, bright feel.

330ml can via Beer52. Poured into my Good People Brewing Company glass at home on 22nd June 2026. Almost clear golden body, weak white head that soon did a runner. Dry and bitter in the mouth, malty nose that doesn't transfer into the taste. Not what I expected an Irish Pale Ale to be like, actually, I'm not too sure what an Irish Pale Ale should taste like.

Sample, thanks Robin Svensson! Hazy straw colour, small head. Aroma of grapes, nectarine and apricot. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with mellow bready malt. Apricot and grapefruit, some spicy hay, Mid bitter finish. Pleasant.
[33cl can from Beer52.] A dark chestnut coloured pour with a thick beige head; charred malt aroma; chocolatey malt taste with a milky body; then a dry finish with a touch of pecan nuts and a hint of salt.
