Founded in Summer 2018, Overtone Brewing Co. are progressively making a difference in the Scottish Craft beer scene and are being recognised globally, now exporting to 12 markets around the world.

Our adventure started with Bowei Wang, who's passion and hobby of home brewing led to the determination of owning his own brewery. He knows the influence great craft beer has when shared with friends, and that's exactly what we want Overtone to be.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Hazy amber body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blood orange and honey. Flavour of Lockets and orange. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Quite basic and forgettable. This doesn’t reach the standards of the best Overtone beers I’ve had.

Can picked up at Ghost Whale and shared at home in Streatham - Pours hazy golden orange with a thin white ringed head. Citrus fruity with some tangerine and grapefruit, some peach, citrus rind, medium body, fruity slightly subdued hoppy into the close.

Keg at Casc, Aberdeen. It pours cloudy murky golden with a small, foamy white head. The aroma is quite soft, fresh, juicy stone fruits, mango, papaya, apricot, doughy bread, bit of bubblegum and orange muffin. The taste is quite soft, mellow, apricot, peach, touch of spice, mango salsa, nectarine, a touch green, pine, floury bread, slight chalkiness and kick of booze. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Fun stuff. Fruity.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Murky amber body with a dense off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lime chutney and pineapple. Flavour of caramel, bay leaf and orange. Medium body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. Simple and tasty but it feels like an IPA-light somehow.

Hazy golden beer, white head. Smells of light, zesty citrus. Tastes of grassy hop, bitter lemon, orange. Nice crisp, bittersweet finish. This is mellower than I expected for the strength and style. Really solid though.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - bright orange. Decent lacing. Nose - earthy with some candied fruit. A bit unusual. Taste - orange and resin this time. Palate - medium bodied and gnarly. Dry and bitter finish. Bit somehow it gets you back for more. Overall - this one grew on me.
