bottle from Rapp Heimdienst. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Malty nose with a shy fruity touch. Robust malty base with grainy hints, good amount of aromatic hops rounds it off in the finish. Smooth palate. Another good beer from this brewery.

bottle from Rapp Heimdienst. Cloudy straw-yellow, large and creamy white head. Yeasty-fruity aroma. Wheaty and yeasty with a pleasant tart character, slightly dray, with some banana flavours. Very pleasant and smooth, velvety carbonation. Not as over-carbonated as many beers of the style - in fact, perfectly carbonated. A really well crafted and solid example of this style, in fact a really good beer which I would prefer over a mass-produced "normal" Hefeweizen anytime. What a pleasant surprise!

Screw-cap bottle (exclusively delivered by Quack-Duck!): Grainy-wheaty nose with a raspberry-like fruitiness underneath, freshly cut bread detectable, cloudy, deep golden, stable lacy white head; sweetish flavour, very well hidden acidity, not unexpectedly light bodied, very soft; short empty sweetish-wheaty finish. Well crafted , but absolutely not my cup of tea. Quality improved, when I added a dash of freshly squeezed lemon juice…

Screw-cap bottle (exclusively purchased by Quack-Duck!)hazy, deep golden to autumn-leafy coloured, medium-sized off-white head with a nice lace; moderate spicy-hoppy nose, some caramel and toasted malt underneath; distinctive dry bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, pretty soft; dry lingering spicy-hoppy finish, completed by delicate traces of pale malt. (screw cap grenade, with thanks to Quack-Duck) Hazy, deep golden to light-amber colour with a big and minimally tanned foamy head. Slightly yeasty and nutty cara-malty aroma with notes of draff and herbal hops in the background. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Cara-malty base with herbal and nutty accents; almost dry malt-accented finish with a well-attenuated hoppy touch. A truly nice Kellerbier with Märzen strength. 28.X.11

bottle from Rapp Heimdienst. Hazy, deep golden colour with a large white head, leaving some lacework. Visible carbonation. Looks very promising - and so is the aroma. Intensively malty with a tocuh of yeast. Medium- to full-bodied with an intensive malt character, very shy hints of roasted malts and walnuts, very shy hints of fresh apples. Herbal hops in the lingering, pleasantly bitter-hoppy finish. Very smooth palate, velvety and smooth carbonation. Another well-crafted, delicious beer from this secret brewery!

bottle from the brewery’s Heimdienst, available since May 30th, 2011 (i.e. today). Cloudy brownish yellow colour, large and very creamy white head. Wheay nose. Super velvety carbonation, wheaty, yeasty, slightly sweet with hints of banana and honey. Not as over-carbonated as many light wheat beers, but really smooth and velvety, extremely pleasant and refreshing on a hot day like today.

Screw-cap bottle (Dank an Stefan!): Pale golden to golden, hazy, big - slowly collapsing - beaten-egg-white-like head; sweet-sourish wheaty nose with a distinctive citrussy touch; light to moderate sweet-sourish flavour, quite light bodied for a beer of 5.5%, but pretty soft; sweet finish with a citrussy touch. Quite well drinkable..........

Moderately sweet and yeasty wheaty and malty aroma with delicate notes of banana, citrus, as well as a minimally grassy hoppy touch. Slightly sweet and sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Present wheat-malty taste with notes of citrus and banana, accompanied by very mild phenolic spices; slightly sweet and sour-tart finish. 20.IV.11
