(screw cap bottle, with thanks to Quack-Duck for the Rappen collection !) Clear, greenish golden colour with a mid-sized frothy white head. Grainy pale malty aroma, also slightly buttery with herbal and woody hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light bodied with a crisp carbonation. Grainy malt-character with herbal and slightly woody hoppy spots; moderately dry and bitter hoppy finish. Simple but good. 16.XI.10

bottle from Rapp-Heimdienst. The first Christmas beer this season. Clear golden colour, large and creamy white head. Malty nose. Full-boied, good malty background with hints of honey and vanilla. Eartzhy-resiny hops with a touch of walnuts lead to a nice hoppy finish with a nice herbal-bitter aftertaste. A very nice beer from a reliable brewery.

bottle from Rapp-Heimdienst. Clear deep golden yellow colour, large white head. Resiny-hoppy nose. Full and solid malty base with lots of resiny-herbal hops. Dry and hop-accented. Lovely hop profile! Their Pilsner is more like a Bohemian Pilsner, this one is more like a classic German. Whatever the style - it’s a good one.

bottle, delivered by the friendly people of Brauerei Rapp. Hazy chestnut-brown colour, large, creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dark malts and chocolate. Full-bodied, roasted malts, caramel, milk chocolate, some raisins perhaps, some espresso coffee in the background. Finishes with lots of roasetd malts and a nice herbal-resiny hoppy touch. This is just delicious, this must be the perfect Dunkel - extremely moreish, can be described only in superlatives.
