Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a crystal clear amber to copper body that supports a thin light tan head. The modest aroma offers up sweet malts, spicy hops and a rye sensation intermingled with the hops. The taste delivers a smooth palate and quickly gets into pine hops and a spicy rye goodness. It gets a little floral hop like around the edges and then slides into the finish with a thin yet adequate malty backbone. Solid.

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a clear pale gold body that supports a near white head. The aroma offers up a nice hit of wheat, a bit of lemon and a salty sort of sensation. The taste is on the bright side with a lemon like sourness, an apricot note and then quickly heading into wheat and saltiness. This is refreshing and offers plenty of depth to keep it interesting. Pretty solid.

Poured up on tap at the 2015 edition of the AZ Strong Beer Festival where it exhibits a nice deep mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up thick malts, molasses, slivers of toffee and then prunes and figs and other inviting sweet smelling dark fruity esters. Wow. The taste begins smooth and sweet with thick malts and getting quickly into molasses and then flowing into prunes and dates and a little bit of cherries. Behind all of those delectable notes is a wafer thin tartness that has to be the Brett that is banging around in here. At the finish it pulls up a wonderful caramel sort of toffee note that just takes this to another level, oh my! This is a dynamite English Barleywine. I ended up getting back in line over and over and over again to get more and more of this wonderful brew. I think I was in line for this 7 or 8 times. YUM! This could easily be a 5.0 but I tend to have a very high threshold for handing out 10’s for aroma and/or flavor.

Reviewed from notes. This was from my AZ trip back in April this year.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy orange to amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing trickling along the glass.
The smell had a floral and citrus hoppiness up front letting some light caramel malts try to balance but still the hops are on the main stage.
The taste was a very nice bittersweet floral to citrus flavoring with a delicate light extra fruitiness.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat sharp but placed itself on the harshness as it rolled over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA well worthy of having again.
