bottle, purchased at the brewery. Clear amber witha red glow, fluffy off-white head. Intsneisve earthy, slightly sweet aroma. Malty start with a shy but pleasant caramelly sweetness, roasetd hints, earthy hops present. Bitters-sweet overall impression. Smooth palate. Very well crafted, very pleasant.

Amber with little white head. Aroma is not much, some parsley, some malty juice stuff. Taste is sweet malts, alcohol bitterness. Medium finish of some bitter malts. Not so smooth. Meh.

Bottle. Amber color with thin tan layer. Aroma is ethereal, spruces, mint. Taste is spruce, herbal, rosemary, citrus. Natural carbonation. Definitely a Christmas beer.

Bottle. Deep golden, offwhite head. Light candy aroma - sugar, mint and citric notes. Medium light body, mellow mouthfeel. Light malt body, low-key hops, cool on the palate, quick finish.

(bottle) Clear, deep golden to amber colour with a medium-sized and off-white foamy head. Slightly toasted, biscuity malty aroma with notes of caramel, hints of draff and a tinge of herbal hoppy spice. Moderately sweet and mildly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Biscuity cara-malt character, slightly sugary taste with a mildly herbal hops profile giving some balance; sweet malty and mildly hop bitter finish with notes of caramel and a herbal hoppy tail in the aftertaste. Süffig. 27.XII.16

Bottle: Deep golden, clear, small+persistent off-white head, clean sweetish malty nose with shy traces of toasted malt and bread plus a delicate herbal-hoppy background; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied, low carbonation; slightly lingering and drier malty-toasty finish with a slightly increasing hoppiness in the aftertaste. Clean and well crafted, as usual in Franconia...

Clear pale golden colour, average frothy white head, diminishing slowly, good lacing. Aroma malt, grain, grass. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grainy, grassy, touch of sugar. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, mild sweetbitter aftertaste, malty notes at the end, decent pilsner.

Bottle from Erlangernick, thanks my friend, Prost! Clear dark brown cola coloured, lasting tan head. Tasty dark beer, some good dark malts, some light chocolate. It’s a decent dunkel, nothing over the top or with particular character, and nothing wrong with it either. A little dark malt character. Decent.

Bottle @ Haket. Slow gusher which caught me off-guard. Pours hazy deep reddish brown with a huge frothy goldenish offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is rustic, malty and floral with toasted malts, dark bread, crispbread, toasted oatmeal, hay, dried flowers, minerals, liquorice hard candy, walnut skins and hints of lemon peal. Taste is tiny sweet, slightly bitter, heavy malty and floral. Mouthfeel is fat, soft, round, slightly sparkling and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and tiny bitter with toasted malts, rustic dark bread, toasted oatmeal, hay, minerals, hazelnuts, lemon peal and hints of bread spices and rye. Amazing fat malt profile with suiting supporting floral hops. Slightly over-carbonated which is a pity but this is really good! --- Beer merged from original tick of Dunkel on 15 Jan 2016 at 19:25 - Score: 7.
