Bottle 50cl. poured into a footed glass. Briljant amberbrown, creamy beige head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma roasted and sweet malt, caramel, dark bread, faint red berries. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, light tart, some liquorice, metallic notes. Light to medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, rather fruity sweetbitter aftertaste, I suspect that this one was infected, still drinkable, okay.

Dark brown in the glass with reddish hues if seen through light. A pretty big fluffy head, the slightest off-white, good enough retention, not much lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: sweet malty notes upfront with caramel, hints of honey, a touch of nuttiness; on the background, a bit of rye bread character (dark bread notes, slightest spiciness). As the smell suggested, the beer is quite sweet in taste: notes of caramel and ligther nuttiness, with a pleasant, well integrated honey touch; minimal dark bread character, even less than the smell suggested; a hint of floral hops and perhaps a fruity reminiscence in a still quite sweet (but clean) finish/aftertaste. Good taste definition and a relatively interesting flavour profile, but quite sweet in the overall balance, maybe even for the style. Quite light in body (perhaps slightly less than usual for the abv), low to medium, classicly franconian delicate carbonation; a smooth mouthfeel with just a hint of creaminess. Overall: a very typical, solid dunkel.
