Bottle. Dark ruby/chestnut color with one finger of creamy white head, disappearing after a while. Aroma is roasted malts, earthy, breadcrust. Taste is bready, roasted malts. Fresh mouthfeel, very low carbonation. Light-bodied, a bit on the sweet side but enjoyable. Easy to drink, nice dunkel.

Another Bavarian Helles, from Oberailsfeld in the Fränkische Schweiz region this time. Snow white, creamy, fairly thick, stable, shred-lacing head, clear yellow golden robe with disparate strings of sparkling. Aroma of dusty cereals, soggy white bread, withering grass, damp straw, pumice, cold potato mash, wet sea sand. Sweetish grainy onset, vague touch of banana, minerally carbonated; slick pale malt sweetish middle, white-bready and a tad honeyish here and there, with very mild yet adequate floral and somewhat grassy hops in the end, adding just enough bitterness to bring balance. Tasty and solid Helles.

Held-Bräu Weizenbock, Flasche von Sagasser, FO. - Tiefdunkles Kastanienrotbraun. - In der Nase recht kerniges dunkles Weizenmalz, zarte Nelke, dezent bananige obergärige Fruchtigkeit und feine Herbe. - Antrunk sahnig weich und füllig dunkel- und weizenmalzig, satt hefig und dezent lakritzig-fruchtig, wobei die Frucht nur leise Akzente im üppig bitterschokoladig-toffeesüßen Malzkörper zu setzen vermag. Milder rezent, vollmundig, leise alkoholische Wärme. Im Abgang dezente Nelke, feine Malzbittere und milde aber doch merkliche herbale Hopfenherbe. - Sehr schöner Weizenbock, füllig und rund. Heller, herb-getreidiger Beginn mit heller und süßer Malznote. Die kernige Herbe steigt noch an, süffig, moderate Bitterkeit. Spritzig, sehr getreidig, langer bitterer Abgang. Gefällt. 8/11/10/10/7/10
