Keg at Wściekły Chmiel, Poznan, 12/07/19. Hazed chestnut brown with a well presented beige cap. Nose is fruit cake, dates, toffee, light spices, sugar dusting. Taste comprises light barrel, fruit slice, nutty twang, brown sugar, toffee, faint cocoa. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced warming boost. Decent barley wine but not from the top shelf.

500ml bottle. Almost black colour with ruby glimmer and small, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Spicy aroma, notes of cinnmaon, ginger, allspice, some clove, nutmeg, cardamom, candied orange peel, dark malty background with a touch of dark chocolate. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty and spicy, notes of cinnamon, clove, allspice, hints of ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, candied orange peel, some honey, a fruity touch of plum. Oily texture, smooth, soft, minimally sticky palate. Wow! Very harmonious, homogeneous, integrated, very well balanced. If you like Lebkuchen (gingerbread), trying this beer is mandatory.
