(swing top bottle, now without the additive “Gräfenberger”) Clear, deep golden colour with a short foamy, slightly off-white head. Sweet malty, slightly toasty aroma with a light hoppy touch and diacetyl. Sweet flavour with a bittering edge, medium to full bodied, smooth carbonation. Robust malty, slightly toasty taste with too obvious notes of diacetyl, which is rather unpleasant. Dry-ish, moderately bitter finish with a present herbal hop-character.

(swing top bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly beige foamy head. Aromatic, sweet malty, slightly roasted aroma with light notes of caramel, liquorice and a distinctive spicy herbal hoppy touch. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Toast-malty base with roasted notes and caramel plus a herbal touch from behind. Medium-dry, slightly sweet malty and moderately bitter, herbal hoppy finish. Very quaffable and pretty well-balanced Festbier.

(swing top bottle) Clear, amber colour with a short but persistent off-white foamy head. Light-sweet, toast-malty aroma with caramel and the distinctive herbal notes of the Lindenbräu brews from Gräfenberg. Moderately bitter flavour, quite light bodied with a solid carbonation. Soft toasted maly taste with light notes of caramel, toffee and herbs. Almost dry, toast-malty, moderately bitter finish with herbal hoppy accents. Nice brew.

(swing top bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a medium-sized blond foamy head. Light-sweet malty with a very light fruity tinge (subtle citrus), but more hop-accented aroma with herbal, slightly grassy notes and a light tinge of metal. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation for a Pilsener. Short initial malty taste, strong herbal and light grassy hoppy notes, getting stronger towards the finish, which is dry, moderately bitter, leaving some malt flavour again in the aftertaste. Unspectacular, not overly balanced but still a pretty drinkable Pils.

Flip-top bottle:Amber coloured, quite stable off-white creamy head, distinctive mix of toasted, sweet malt and aromatic hops in the aroma; moderate bitter sweet flavour, very soft MF, light medium bodied; only slightly sweetish, mainly "wooden" hoppy lingering finish. A very fine sample from good old Franconia......

From the tap(at the Lindenbräu): Amber coloured, thin foam; malty nose (tinges of roasted malts and coffee?), some bitter notes; malty flavour, medium bodied, short bitter-malty aftertaste. This kind of Lager can be found only in Franconia! O.K.
