"Perlenzauber (Edition 2021), Dry hopped, Fläschchen aus dem Kalea Craft Beer Advent Calender 2021; probiert 6.11.2021. - Ein kaltgehopftes Märzen mit Hallertauer Gold aus Ellingen; angeblich identisch mit dem Fürst Carl Märzen. - Kupfergoldbraun, klar. - Die Nase ist für ein Kaltgehopftes recht matt: blasses Toastmalz, weiche Zitrusfrucht, gedämpfte hopfenwürzige Herbe. - Antrunk weich und füllig toastmalzig mit runder Karamelsüße und milder Zitrusfrucht, Pfirsichkern, ein wenig Orangenschale. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang feine hopfenwürzige Bittere. - Rundes Märzen mit feiner aber etwas gehemmter Kalthopfung. Da erreicht selbst manches konventionell gehopfte fränkische Märzen ganz andere Aroma- und Bitterwerte. (RAB: 3,1 = Brewver: 6,2.)

Das Märzen hat recht frische, mild-aromatische orangenbittere und herbale Hopfung und ist kerniger, als mir das Perlenzauber seinerzeit vorkam. In der Endbewertung liegen beide aber ungefähr gleich, das Märzen leicht vorne. Note: 6,4.

Kalea. One of Silke‘s fifty. Amber with a frothy, white head. Aroma of mixed grains, metals, dough. A hint of apricot jam. Taste has a mild, dough sweetness up front, dry and mildly herbal bitter at the back. Medium bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Okay.

ABV: 7.5%. Clear light to medium amber colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel - dark malt, malty, bock'ish. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel, sweet malt - dark malt, malty, bock sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20210630]

ABV: 5.2%. Clear medium yellow colour with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, flowers, herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, flowers, herbs, meadow, grass, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20210630]

A Kalea beer. Gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma a hint of lemon over yeasty bread. Subdued though, you have to search. Mildly sweet with a noticeable hoppy bitterness on the backside that’s not without metallic hints. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Not the best.
