Shinshu. Grainy, lemon, slight funkiness, interesting. Prefer the autumn porter, but this is still nice. Getting more wheat the second time, and a bit of other fruit. Maybe lacks a bit of sparkle, but quite nice still.

Keyaki. Aroma is apple and booze. Sweet. Calvados like. Rocket fuel but quite nice. Would probably be better not at a beer fest and in 32 degree heat.

Going through a backlog. Drank at the Japan Brewers Cup in Jan 2014. Tap from Oh la Ho. Taste is part creamy and part bitter. Nice. Surprisingly creamy for an ipa. Pleasantly different.

Keyaki. Interesting. Light caramel, little bit of spikiness, some sweetness. Little bit of citrus. Brown bread.

Can. Citrus, bit of grassy hops. Taste is little metallic, nice bitterness, little bit sweet and perfumey, biscuity malt hiding at the back. Nice but not one of their best. Second time I had it on tap at Server Land and it was a lot nicer. Very easy drinking. Good fruitiness and bitterness with a bit of spiky maltiness.

Can bought at Tanakaya. Golden orange colour with small white creamy head. Aroma is hops, lots of them. Cat pee, grapefruit, lots of spikiness too. Taste is nice and malty, bit of biscuit and a bitter finish. Pure grapefruit at the end, but other fruitiness in there too, lemon. Nice and drinkable. My favourite Oh La Ho so far.

Rerate at Ushi Tora, Summer 2014. Good stuff, grainy but with lots of bitterness, grapefruit, dry. Full on citrus. After a while graininess takes over. Still nice. Little bit if sweetness. I like it. From the first rating: Tap at Shinshu Sake Mura. Marked as Oh La Ho IPA, but they did also have posters up for the Rydeen, so who knows? Light amber colour, off white thick head. Aroma is very hoppy, lots of pine, citrus, something slightly stinky or twiggy. Bready maltiness.Taste is nice, bitter, more malt than hop, slight spice prickle. Twigs again, but just enough hoppiness too. Spicy bite. Haven't had many IPAs like this in Japan, so interesting, but personally probably would prefer more fruitiness. Solid though.

Tap at Shinshu Sake. Amber colour, small off white head. Aroma is malty, bit fruity, some sweetness. Taste is nice again, lots of malt, fruity again. Solid enough. Rerate: Had it again straight out of the can from Le Collier. Aroma more citrussy this time, similarly with the taste, but still plenty of maltiness. Seems like I scored it the same though. Third time's a charm. This time at ibrew on tap. Really nice. Citrus and malty. Extremely vague I know, but just a nice beer.

Can from Le Collier. Straight from the can. Lightly creamy, bit of lemon, very kolsch like. Always easy drinking. Bit tea like, earl grey element and decent fruitiness. Quite nice. Very soft in the mouth.

Can from Shinshu Sake Mura. Taste is light citrus, nice bitterness, grainy, floury. Aroma floral, lemon, biscuit malt. Only a few notes but remember being surprised by it as I thought it wouldn't be so good.
