Description
Italian local couple Massimiliano & Sonia, who initially aimed to produce beer only for the family, without the idea of obtaining revenue or even making it a real job, set up the Maiella brewery. Since our first beers in 2008, now several years have passed, the brewery has been forced to move to the home of 'Noonas' at a higher altitude due to the low fermentation.

Bottle, 75 cl. A more or less clear one, golden in color and with a huge, collapsing white head. The aroma is mostly fruity, peaches and orange mostly, and with some yeast, pine cones and peppery notes. It’s medium bodied and pleasantly carbonated, not too sweet. It’s too yeasty in the flavor, with a faint bitterness. Orange peel and peaches too. Mostly fruity end. A decent beer, easy drinkable, but far from impressive. 131204

28.10.2013, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Small bubbly shortlasting head. Aroma is mild and slightly fruity, light malts, flowers, yeast, citrus, yeast, dried fruits, hay. Taste is yeast, flowers, hay, weeds, grain, hints of citrus. Medium bitterness, kind of watery and metallic mouthfeel. Pretty boring, and I think this one is more like a blonde/golden ale than a fruit beer.

Bottle at home. Has a slightly cloudy straw yellow colour and a small, off-white head that fades fast. Fruity aroma of hay, spices, Belgian yeast, citrus and sweet fruit. The flavour has more hay, Belgian yeast, pale and sweet malt and with some sweet fruit in the end. Slick and silky mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. The aroma was nice but the flavour didnt follow. Light and a little strange.

750ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Cloudy, pale golden body. White layer on the surface. Poor lacing. Fresh aromas of citrus fruits, mid-dry. Fresh lemon hoppy taste. Rounded citrus bitter ending with a little bit of yeasty fruitiness beneath it all. Medium bodied. Very refreshing (shared with Ingrid, Mari and Esben, Tromsø 12.10.2013).

Flaske fra polet: særdeles kortvarig skum. Svak duft av sommerblomster og honning. Liten karbonering gjør at helehtsinntrykket blir intetsigende og flatt. Absolutt drikkbart, men forglemmelig.

Uklar gul i fargen med hvitt skum som legger seg fort. Fruktig, bær, pummelukt. Rund, ganske søt. Lite bitterhet, men smaken sitter igjen lenge.

750 ml bottle. Dark amber body with a big off-white head. Aroma has slightly roasted dark malt and some spices. Flavor is sweet malty, light roasted, caramel and dry fruit. Low bitterness. Actually quite nice if you don’t consider this to be a stout. It’s sweet with a fruity flavor, yeast and some kind of Belgium alcoholic style. Not bad.
