Description
Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, with three locations in St. Louis, is an unconventional-minded yet tradition-oriented brewer of craft beer. We like to call our unique brewing philosophy Beer Divergency - a 'new world meets old world' brewing approach wherein UCBC contributes to the 'revolution' of craft beer with artisanal creations of modern American beers, and pays 'reverence' to the heritage of beer with classically-crafted offerings of timeless European beer styles.

Pour is a cloudy gold with a large white head. Aroma is pale malt with a little herbal hop. Flavor is dry malt, super lemony with a herbal finish. Not your typical helles but something different and unique.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is wood and vanilla with some dark chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt with a nice bourbon barrel and a little sweetness. Alcohol is there but it hits you way after the swallow. Thin for a Impy stout but the flavor was there and the alcohol was pretty much hidden.

Rich and dark without being overly sweet. Presents notes of caramel, toasted bread, and grain, with hints of fruit and a modest floral bitterness on the back end. Very good.

16 oz. Aroma is lightly bready, lightly grassy—fairly faint overall. Pours clear golden with a half finger off white head that settles into a ring pretty quick. Taste has a light bready sweetness and faint bitterness with flavors of grass and light bready malt. Subdued pils and a little boring. Edit: The bitterness that seemed so faint at first builds on the palate, making this better than I first thought and increasing my score.
