Description
Das Vierzehnheiliger Bier wird bereits seit 1803 hier oberhalb der Wallfahrtskirche Vierzehnheiligen gebraut – ein „Nothelfer“ im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Denn wenn die vielen Pilger oberhalb der Kirche aus dem Wald kommen, begeben sich nur die wenigsten sofort in die Kirche, sondern stärken sich zuvor lieber bei einem Seidla und einer hausgemachten Brotzeit.

Seit 1803 lässt sich eine ''Alte“ Klosterbrauerei Vierzehnheiligen nachweisen, die neben der Basilika Vierzehnheiligen betrieben wurde. Von 1839 bis 1879 bestand die Brauerei als Franziskaner-Convent-Bierbrauerei. Später wurde sie von der Familie Martin geführt und als Sternbräu Vierzehnheiligen bezeichnet und nach 1950 in Brauerei Martin umbenannt. 1989 wurde die Brauerei von der Familie Trunk übernommen und modernisiert and als Brauerei Trunk weitergeführt.

Forced draught at the GBBF 2008, as Trunk Weisse. ABV was 5.5%. Cloudy golden colour, big head. Typical hefeweizen with notes of cloves and banana both in the aroma and the flavour. Nice.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, bread, sugar, light yeasty, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (130608)

On tap at GBBF 08. Cloudy gold, thin white head. Lots of banana. Nice banana, lemon type weisse. Bit of bubblegum. Balanced and pleasant, but not too cereally. Very nice. Good lemon curd flavour.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Mild spiced, alcohol and malt dense aroma. Flavour is medium sweet, light cornish - but not without a mild cardboard note. Light dry malt finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Light malt and hops aroma with a mild spice note. Mildly sweet flavoured. Dry and slight cornish flavour following. Light spiced flavour before the finish. Once again with a light sweet flavour in the finish.
