Maakun shares the sour power. Bottle shared, golden pour with white head. Big sour grain, apricot, big dry firecracker funk. Moderate sweet and sour and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Lovely dry and funky and fruity. Crazy nice.

Bottle 7/272 from 2013 shared. Almost clear golden with white head and a few tiny floaters. Gooseberries, white grapes, funk, hay, soft matches, a bit of wood glue, pine wood, lemon, lots of aromatic herbs, more pine. Wow this has lots of fresh aromatic wood which is a bit unusual but quite pleasant. Medium sour, under medium bitter and light sweet. Medium bodied. Very nice but a classic Belgian geuze it's not.

Sampled thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Leighton, bottle 117/408, pours a dark orange with some clumpy, white head. Nose is straight salad dressing, celery, pomegranate, lots of vinegar. Flavor has sweetened vinegar, like Mirin with orange slices in it, there's a strange strawberry note coming through. Finishes very hot, very acetic.

Sampled on draft at Hugo's this beer poured a cloudy yellow color with a medium sized foamy off white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was cloudy yellow with a medium sized off white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was butterscotch, sugar and a bit of tropical fruit. The flavor was butterscotch, bitter and tart in the middle then faint vague fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body. Not good.

4 oz. draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Boston, 23 September, 17. Dirty color, aroma is funky yeast, moldy basement, decent amount of fruit. Flavor is somewhat balanced between fruit and funk. Mouth feel and carbonation are fine. Must be a new vintage.

Bottle shared on Level 42 for Cloin's 20K Tasting, 13/09/2017. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. A dark onion skin coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet, caramel, vanilla, vinegar, spicy, salty, nail polish remover. Flavour is composed o f tangy picked onion, vinegar, semi sweet, caramel, oily, buttery, , balsamic vinegar. Palate is medium tangy, acidic, moderate carbonation.

Bottle split at the 20K, big thanks to Leighton for this beast ... it won the worst (non lager / shandy style) beer award at the tasting and was a close 2nd for my 20K rake behind the Tramp Cider, 13/09/17. Murky orange amber with a head that soon collapses to nothing. Nose is tarte citric flesh, piss, varnish, harsh and full on balsamics. Tate comprises salt and vinegar crisps, acidic bite overpowering background fruit esters, sharp, stinging, harsh piss after a week on the ale, apple core. Medium bodied, big throat scrape, acidic fruit balsamic rise to the curtain call. Battery acid special but no Lambeek Wants Blood !

Bottle shared in London, especially for cloin's 20k - picked up in a high-profile trade in 2015. Pours unclear orange-gold with minimal head. The nose holds old wood, vinegar, glue, aged orange. Light sweet flavour with moderate vinegar character, some pickle juice, brine, lemon, dry wood. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finishes with some sharpness, more acetic twang, prominent vinegar, lemons. It's not good, but honestly I was hoping it would be worse. It is comical, but it doesn't hurt to drink.

Bottle at L42. It pours hazy golden - amber with a small white head. The aroma is raw, sweet - sour, acidic, rotten fruits, varnish, raw ethanol, wood, vanilla, icing sugar, tar and paint stripper. The taste is dry, tart, vinegary, bit hit of acidity, salt & vinegar crisp, balsamic, sherbet, pickled onion monster munch and tang with an acidic finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Bad, but not the worst for style.
