Bottle, 6.8%. Sweet liquorice aroma, vinous and mildly bready. Smells well-lagered. Dark brown colour, red shine. No head to speak of. Sweet flavour, nicely creamy and bready with a vanilla note like oaked beers. Late liquorice aftertaste with more cream and vanilla. Very nice.

Sampled at GBBF 09. Very nice appearance with its rosewood body colour. Tiny, yellowish head. Aroma of malts and raisin-like sweetness. The taste profile is dominated by very sweet malts and too little dark fruits. Watered palate in spite of the alcohol strength (London, 05.08.2009).

Bottle from the Dodgi’ Deli’, Cowley Road, Oxford, consumed 23-08-09 Pours dark brown light beige head, after a lively opening which soaked my shirt. Aroma is toffee, chewy, malty, alcohol is well hidden. Quite enjoyable, pleasant enough porter, if a touch sweet, but another interesting find here. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3
