[Cask at Charlies Bar, Copenhagen] A slightly hazy orange beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of berries and grain. The flavor is sweet with a powerful strawberry notes and with a dry end. The body is thin.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beaútiful, deep, reddish copper - clear and filtered - with a decent, off-white head. Appears very bitter at first, but things are levelled out by some very smooth and tasty caramel malt. 270201

Amber beer with a disappearing head. Caramel aroma. Sweet flavour with a hint of bitterness in the finish. --- It says vintage ale on the label despite the clear bottle sending a different signal. Listen to then bottle, not the label. The 2005 vintage one year later is just slightly oxidated and not better in any way.

Cask @ Charlie’s Bar. Reddish in colour. Aroma of hops, Flavour is malty with a nice bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask handpull at Society Rooms, JDW, Maidstone, Deep copper colour with bubbly off white head. Nice yeasty hop aroma. Finish is rather stunning. Very drying, almost dessicating hop, bit thin in mouth the the rest is good. Touch of caramel malt. Hops on end are a bit of a revelation

50cl bottle. Chestnut brown with lasting beige head. Attractive yeasty, toffee, hop aromas. Creamy toffee in mouth with dry hop and toasted toffee finish. Yep, like this. Has some of the plums and cherry fruit of the draught.

50cl bottle. Dark copper colour, lasting light beige head. Shep’s yeast and roasted toffee malt aromas. Bit dead in outh with yeasty red fruit finish. Some good hop and citrus on the finish too.

[After 3 years on RB I finally had to chance to rerate one of my early favorites, I have often wondered if it could really be that good, as a 4.6] Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen: A hazy red beer with a nice orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of berries as well as hints of hops. The flavor is sweet, again with berries coming thru - especially cowberries, but it also has slight notes of wood. Definately not a 4.6 - 3 years later. [First rating: Cask at Jyske Øldage 2002] A beutiful red beer with no head. It has a bitter aroma - as red beers usually has. It has a rounded bitterness. A very great beer - I wish I could get it more often. [10/4/10/3/19]

Dark amber color. Malty nose with faint hints of snuff. Light lemony, malty mouth that is pretty non-descript. Almost no finish of distinction. Certainly doesn’t offened.
