Die südserbische Stadt Zaječar ist nach dem serbischen Wort für "Hase" (zec/зец) benannt und dort gibt es seit dem Jahre 1895 die Pivara Zaječar. Diese gehört heutzutage (Stand 2016) zu Heineken Serbien. Der Name lässt auf ein helles Lager schließen, aber wenn man sich die Flasche bzw. Dose genauer ansieht, merkt man dass es mit seinen 10,7° Stammwürze eher den tschechischen zehngrädigen leichten Sommerbieren zuzurechnen ist. Ich habe mein Exemplar an einem serbischen Imbissstand in Wien getrunken, wo es als leichte Alternative zu den heimischen Dosenbieren angeboten wurde. Und als das würde ich es auch einordnen: Kein Bier, dass man als gemütliches Gesellschaftsbier trinkt, aber als leichte Ergänzung zu den fetten Speisen des Balkans ist es sicher in Ordnung.

Sampled from 0.5 l can, best before July 2016, from Koelschtrinker, thanks Roman! Clear, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, grainy and a bit grassy aroma of straw and grains. Sweetish, a bit grainy and slightly grassy taste of straw and grains, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly metallic finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Very bland, not very tasty as well.

Can. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Shotr light bitter finish. Watery palate.

Bottle in Borefts beer queue (thanks) - pours gold with a white head. Aroma and taste is grassy and grainy, straw, some overt corn sweetness, cardboard, basic stuff.

33cl bottle. Klare hell goldgelbe Farbe, geringe weiße schaumkrone. Geruch süß getreidig malzig. Geschmack getreidig malzig, süß, Pappe.

Bottle shared before Borefts Day 2. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell and taste wheat, lightly malts, lightly bitter, a hint of cardboard but it’s definitely drinkable.

0.5 l can from a local grocery store in Vladi?in Han (Vladika’s Han), Southern Serbia. Drank from a can. Faint malty aroma. Sweet, malty, light sugary. Medium carbonation, very light hops, some malts in finish. Not that bad.
