Pours a thick, oily near-black from a bottle. Aroma is huge spice (allspice, clove, cinnamon, ginger, in that order) all layered over bourbon and oak. A little jarring to be honest; it is not subtle. Flavor is at the top of the dial, again a little much. Thick and sweet, spicy. Good beer.

Last bottle from the Tasty Beverage store closing sale. I bought half a case & held on for a bit. Served my father in law this last year & he almost gagged. Duvel glass @home. Slightly obstructed, not quite hazed, oily medium gold pour. Herby, oak, lemon, big astringency, lightest of funk. Lemon, soft herbs, bitter apple, sour pineapple, old oak, key lime bittersweetness, iron, gentle brett. So great.

Drinky drink on 12/29. Tall boy from Appalachian. Was excited about the 12/05/22 born on date but I took forever. At least it was in the fridge the last two weeks. Pale, lemon gold slurry. Sticky, whitewash head. Smells of sweet onions & bitter oranges, cooked orange juice. Soft, sticky, pungent & intense lemon-grapefruit rind. Beautifully bittersweet juice with a slight numbness. Husky, starchy, goop-y, I feel all of that abv. Aside from the texture, pretty good.

Can from Appalachian. Might have gotten two. Goblet @home. Stiff, slurry, cocoa head. Matte black pour with very slight cola edges. Big allspice & aged (ginger dominate)fruitcake nose with a backdrop of vanilla cream. Faint roast for such a dark brew. Label description is very accurate here. Creamy, with lots of gingerbread. Prickly all-spice front to back, very level to medium low cinnamon(restrain gets a+), very subtle vanilla. Lingering herbal bitter all-spice is quite strong. Smooth, milky, warming heat. I liked it.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong vanilla, cocoa, hazelnut, bourbon, licorice. Slick body, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, light hazelnut, boozy, cloying sweetness, very nice.
