Supposedly this is a hopped cider, but it makes no mention of it anywhere on the label. There is long-winded description about the company on the back of the can, but not about the actual cider. Now there is a smartphone scanner thingie there, but shit, why couldn’t they condense that ego a bit & tell me something about their product?
Rounded pint glass. Ever so slightly hazed mellow gold body. Barely a twitch of movement.
Boozy, yeasty, banana & peach scent. More over-steeped green tea then hops.
Taste is harsh. Boozy, woody, estery. Acidy apples. Saline & banana. Old hops. Yeasty texture. Softly sweet. Dry, scruffy herbal finish. Subtle bubbles. Noticeable sulfites.
Could of been worse.

On tap at Orenco taphouse. Pours a bright yellow color, a bubbly head. The aroma is huge sweet ginger, some zesty oranges. The flavor is more huge ginger, big citrus, lively, earthy and grainy. Quite good.

Sample at Brave Horse Tavern. Hazy yellow pour with a minimal white head the evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of peppers and apple. Medium-bodied with a mildly spicy jalapeño character with apple and cinnamon notes. The finish is peppery with a lingering subtle jalapeño aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Brave Horse Tavern. Hazy yellow color with a medium foamy white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of apples and cocoa. Medium-bodied with flavors of sweet chocolate and mildly tart apple. The flavor combination works better than I would have expected. The finish is chocolatey with ripe apples in the background. Decent overall.
