On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma has a smooth toasted barley character, with little else—but it’s as the style calls for. Flavour is smooth, with a gentle toasted malt character dominating, with soft undertones of bitter coffee and cocoa powder. Pleasant for the style.

5.9/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 6 Flavor 6 Texture 5 Overall 6
On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is not particularly expressive or distinct, with gentle dankness, earthy hops, a touch of pine, and bready malt. Flavour doesn’t have a particularly well-dialled in hop expression—there’s some weird herbal notes, light allium, spruce—with a dry bready malt base. Not a fan of the hop expression here.

8.1/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 8.5 Texture 8 Overall 8
On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by a wonderful white wine-like hop tang from the Nelson, a spicier edge from the Riwaka, and a minerality, biscuit malt base. Flavour is bright, with the Riwaka really shining—loads of spicy, hop tang—with a very dry malt base. Lovely hop bill here—my favourite two NZ hops. Excellent.

Medium brown, medium head. Nice vanilla, rich bourbon, off-dry finish, decent bitterness. Solid, unassuming impy.

Bright gold, medium head, super dank, piney, earthy, little bit of blackberry. Clean, fresh, excellent. Dank as fuck. One of the best of style I’ve had in a while.

On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of sweet cereal malts, sugar, and toasted biscuity malt. Flavour is fairly boozy, with sweet cereal grains, ethanol, light bitterness. Pleasant, though a bit too pointlessly boozy. Decent.

6.6/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 6.5
On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma has a roastier character than most milds, earthiness, and toasted malt. Flavour is much the same, with some roast, earthiness, and dry bread crusts. Much better than your typical shitty English dark mild. Decent.

6.4/10 Appearance 7 Aroma 6 Flavor 6 Texture 6 Overall 7
On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours an anber-tinged near-black with a small tan head. Aroma has earthy roast, not much else. Flavour is dry, with lots of earthy bready malt and seltzery notes. Too seltzery, not enough deep roast, but competent enough.

5.8/10 Appearance 5 Aroma 6 Flavor 6 Texture 6 Overall 5.5
On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma has gentle earthiness, some light pine, and bready malt. Flavour is dull, with mineraly notes, sweaty notes, and a bit of dank hop oils. Dull, sweaty, flat hop expression. Not working too well.

7.1/10 Appearance 7 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 7 Overall 7.5
On tap at Stoup - Ballard, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has massive dank hops, some berry, tropical notes, and earthiness. Flavour is fairly dank, with some sweatiness, pot-like hops, some oils, and minerality. Dank, pot-like finish. Good but below what Stoup is capable of.
