On tap at VCBW Festival, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Nose brings out light biscuity malt and some very light piney notes. Flavour is clean but pretty bland, with biscuity notes and light piney hopes. Leaves something to be desired - missing some oomph. Meh.

On tap at VCBW Fest, pours a clear amber orange with a medium white head. Nose brings out light rye, some resinous hops and dry biscuity caramel malt. Flavour is quite restrained for a double IPA, with light spicy rye, spicy hops and just enough biscuity malt. Nothing incredible, but decently made. Not bad.

On tap at VCBW Fest, pours a dark mahogany with a small tan head. Nose brings lots of dark dried fruits and burnt caramel. Flavour brings out dry burnt caramel and dark dried fruits - really well balanced, without too much residual sweetness. The burnt caramel tempers the sweetness very well. Very good.

Draft - Nice caramel and sweetness with tea leaf like hops. Clear copper with a decent white head. Sweet caramel. And leafy hops. Decent but boring.

Can (blutt 59 again - thanks). Lactic coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown with moderate head. Sweet creamy coffee malt and moderately bitter herbal ginseng/gentian flavor. Medium body. Interesting - coffee subtler than expected.

Can shared in NYC. Pours clear deep gold with a creamy head. The nose has some fusel notes, orange. Medium sweet flavor with sugary bread, grain, herb, pine. Full bodied with average carbonation. Resinous finish, some grassy bitterness, lightly toasted bread and grains, dank citrus fruits. Not bad.

Thanks to crajun for the trade. Pours cola brown with a tan head. The aroma has lots of coffee and chocolate going on. The flavor is smooth and sweet following the aroma. Tasty.

Thanks to crajun for the trade. Pours hazy gold with an off- white head. Aroma of citrus and pine and juicy malt. The flavor is on the sweet side with plenty of body. Not overly sweet like some of the double IPAs but it leans in that direction.

Sample at Kurtkeller 020: Stout-tastic 01 on 02/22/2015. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. the aroma consists of roast malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate and mild coffee. The finish is roast malt up front with a mild earthy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Aroma is strong fruity hops with a hint of cider. Appearance is good copper body but little head. Flavour is okay hoppy notes but not strong enough on the mouthfeel. It needs to be stronger on the finish. It’s just an okay IPA.
