Thanks to crajun for the trade. Pours hazy gold with an off- white head. Aroma of citrus and pine and juicy malt. The flavor is on the sweet side with plenty of body. Not overly sweet like some of the double IPAs but it leans in that direction.

Sample at Kurtkeller 020: Stout-tastic 01 on 02/22/2015. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. the aroma consists of roast malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate and mild coffee. The finish is roast malt up front with a mild earthy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Aroma is strong fruity hops with a hint of cider. Appearance is good copper body but little head. Flavour is okay hoppy notes but not strong enough on the mouthfeel. It needs to be stronger on the finish. It’s just an okay IPA.

Can shared by Tom, thanks! Pours a clear dark brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a rich coffee note with roasted malts and some dark grains. Flavor has roasted malts and coffee throughout with a bit of dark grain for the backbone.

Can at home from Mora2000 while watching some castle and knight movie. Pours deep brown with fine fluffy head. Nose is lovely coffee and some light earth. Tastes of very pleasant coffee notes, some chocolate powder, earthy bitters, and creamy lactose. Easy drinking smooth and not sweet despite the flavor profile. Pretty yummy.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a dark brown with large frothy tan head that leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is cherry skin, roast, dark chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with light roast and dark chocolate, not much cherry.

Rich deep brown coloured body (no surprise, eh?) with a very thin, just oily layer of brown atop the beer. Aroma of alcohol, pecans, walnuts and not much else - some darker (~60% cacao) chocolate and hints of alcohol are also barely perceptible. Medium to Full-bodied; Very rich, creamy, malty and assertive brandy flavours at the forefront with a lot of sweetness from prunes, cream, cherries and caramelised malts all showing around the flavour. Aftertaste is a bit more rounded and acute with the cream and chocolate flavours the strongest, but not a light beer at all. Overall, a strong and robust sweet tout, which is exactly what this is -not a baltic or foreign by any means - just a typical sweet stout that is trying to be melded into something else. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whip-In in Austin, Texas on 05-May-2014 for US$2,69 sampled at home in Washington on 11-August-2014.

Slightly hazy amber coloured body with a copper glow and a ridiculously large, five centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of soap, oats, malt, alcohol, earthy hops, cereal, bread, dough and way more soap. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive oat and soap flavours at first with some unfinished hop pellets in the mix and a hint of a grassiness that lingers. Aftertaste is at least a bit more defined with some pungent malt and toffee flavours coupled with pear, apple and some hay notes in the finish. Overall, a decent representation of the style (APA) with a twist of the oats in the mix - which makes for some good complexity. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whip-In in Austin, Texas on 05-May-2014 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 22-July-2014.

12 oz. can thanks going to Righcross55 on this one! Date on bottom of can is 04/17/2014. Nice cloudy amber and orange color with suds of white head in the snifter. Aroma is spicy rye, pine resins and a touch of what may have been citrus.
Flavor caramel bready malt balances the brew just right. The rye is right upfront in the sip with pine and grapefruit in the finish. Bitterness lingers for a few seconds after the sip leading into a oily / juicy texture. The flavor I get is nice right now I can only imagine how big this is fresh. The ABV is hidden well and really overall was easy to sip on a hot summer afternoon. Nice drink.
