Can. Pours orange gold. Nose/taste of rye, grapefruit peel, caramel malt, honey, cane sugar, dank orange peel and dank sugary citrus. Medium body.

Cloudy dark yellow with a white head. Very little aroma. I can conjure up some spicy hops and light malt. The flavor is light and clean with just a bit of tang from the rye. Great hot weather cooler. Thanks crajun for the trade!

Aroma: The nose has fruity hops mostly, with some pine notes, and a bit of caramel
Appearance: Pours an unclear orange color with a thick froth of beige head, and medium lace
Flavor: Taste-wise, it is pretty balanced, some caramel/fruity sweetness, and a decent bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with a soft carbonation, and a smooth finish
Overall Impression: This is the first thing I have tried from Deep Ellum, and it is a plenty solid IPA. This is a very balanced beer, with a pretty nice mouthfeel. It drinks quite nicely as well. I wonder how fresh this can was, because it tastes just a little "aged" to me. Would like to try again with a fresh draft/can.

Draft - Dark coffee and chocolate. Jet black with a thin brown head. Coffee roast and a light toasty bitterness. Nice and rich.

Bottle - Bubblegum, fruit esters and light roast malts. Jet black with a creamy beige lasting head. Plum, prune and dark fruits. Yeasty, fruity and sweet dark sugars. Nice for a local quad.

Sampled from the tap at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours a hazy orange with a bubbly white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma is very dank with a bit of onion, grass, pine and resin with a light grain backbone. Flavor has same strong dank note with pine, resin and onion coming through backed by just at touch of grain.

Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours a clear gold with a large white head that lasts through out the beer and laces. Aroma has notes of sweet grain and bread with a bit of grass and nuttiness. Flavor has lots of grain and hay notes with just a hint of grassiness.

Tap at Craft and Growler - a bit of an odd beer, here - it’s quite sweet, but also somewhat sour, with a punch of acetone through the middle that lingers through the finish and is amplified by the alcohol presence - bit of white grape late - one of those beers where you can’t tell if it’s infected or supposed to taste like this - odd.

Tap at Common Table, Dallas - I thought this one was decent - certainly a smooth body and creamy texture - the tart cherries balance the sweetness of the malt and add some depth - the cocoa is not very present, but I don’t think it needs to be - the balance of malt sweetness and lightly earthy and tart cherry skins/tannic character is enough to carry this - sure, it’s not terribly complex outside of this, but it’s still quite enjoyable.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is cherry skin and spice. Medium mouthfeel with light caramel and dark fruits. Decent.
