Sample at Hay Merchant in Houston. The beer pours brownish-black with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of roasty coffee, chocolate malt and some herbal hops in the background. The finish is mildly bitter with a coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Hay Merchant in Houston. Pours a deep brown-black color with a medium light beige head that diminishes slowly. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, bready malt and a bit of chocolate. The finish is sweet malt up front with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a black and ruby hue with small beige head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roasted malt and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a dry hop and raisin malt with lingering dry finish. A very good black IPA from Deep Ellum.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a dark ruby with large creamy beige head that lasts awhile leavin sticky lacing. The aroma is a bready malt and caramel. Thin mouth with rich caramel malt with nice sweet finish. Easy to drink a very good doppelbock from Deep Elllum.

Bottle from secret Santa 2012 - blutt59. Pours dark brown color with tan head. Roasted mark aroma with some chocolate and a little ash. Roasty and earthy flavor with some chocolate and a little ashy. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Bob.

Bottle from secret Santa 2012 - blutt59. Pours clear amber color with off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and tangerine. Lots of pine flavor with some bitter grapefruit rind and just a hint of malts. Medium body with a crisp finish. Thanks Bob.

Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Hazed golden color with a medium off-white head and stringy lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and malt. Medium-bodied with a vinous character and flavors of earthy yeast, malt and wheat. The finish is fruity with a yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a clear amber and ruby with medium frothy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet caramel malt and tosst with light dry finish. Easy to drink a good American strong ale from Deep Ellum.

On tap at cloudy amber with thick white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is funk and fruit malt. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and funk with light bitter finish. Easy to drink a good alt from Deep Ellum.

On cask at The Hay Merchant. Pours a cloudy gold with a s frothy white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is wheat, honey, and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with a light honey flavor and citrus. A decent blond from Deep Ellum.
