Bradford CAMRA Beer Festival 2026, Beer#29. Clear golden coloured ale. Hoppy in the main, but tropical fruit in both aroma and taste is a close second, with a fair balance between the two.

Cask at Brewery Tap, Chester. Pours almost black with a medium sized foamy tan head. Roasted malts to the fore in the aroma, alongside milk chocolate and hints of dark fruits. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth, but with a little underlying bitterness and a slightly watery texture. Roasted malts combine well with coffee and dark chocolate in the flavour. Some hints of stone fruit later as well. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is rather nice – plenty of flavour and depth to it.

Missing an army roll call triggers an Article 15 punishment. Nothing punishing here in this cloudy dirtier yellow coloured beer with a small head. Hoppy with a late citric bitterness coming through as the dominant aftertaste. Slightly unusual but interesting enough. Citrus tropical aroma.

It was charming enough living next to Harlequins rugby training pitch for a few months in my London years. This indigenous hop brew is also quite charming. A clear blonde, easy textured, easy drinking pale ale with a heavy hoppy character, which is mildly creamy-sweet in aftertaste. Session ale here.

Impressive stuff. Velvety. Lovely chocolate vibes, roast, soft earth, a nip of dark fruit, mocha. Incredible depth for the ABV. Lingering bittersweet cocoa. Great stuff.
