Spotted this in Natural Lawson. Pours clean amber, filtered and watery, thick two-finger head, quite persistent. Aroma is faint, plastic and cardboard, not really getting any hops. Sweetish. First sip is carbonated, hops still missing - although this beer is probably a bit more bitter than usual Suntory Malts. Not better though, feels weird, far from a real IPA, more like a pilsner where they have just have used a bit too much of hop extract. Because hop extract it must be, with all this artificial-feeling side-tastes. Not good. Can still finish my glass.

Suntory Dunkel 5.5% Reddish brown with a thick beige head. The aroma is simple malty sweet grains with mild caramel. Light bodied, the taste is bittersweet caramel fudge with a bit of a nutty bite. Better than anything in their Craft Select series. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours light reddish brown, big head that comes down and leaves some dirty-looking lacings. Transparent, looking watery and thin. Aroma - has a bit of bread, not much else. Maybe some wet cardboard and some sourish feel to it. Taste feels thin, some caramel and buttering hops, not much fragrance. Watery, yet feels heavy. The best part is glowing bitterness in the aftertaste. Beer is missing all fruitiness I enjoy in ales. More like amber Vienna, watered down version of that. Drinkable, but not really good

Suntory Craft Select IPA 6.5% Pouring a deep yellow with a thick soapy long-lasting head of foam. It’s got that sweet fruity/floral hop character most hoppy brews from major Japanese companies tend to have. Medium bodied, a bit undercarbed with a sweet artificial grape fruity-floral hop character. Too sweet and the body is somewhat cloying. Pass.

Suntory's Amber Ale 5.5% I am drinking this to make space in my fridge and out of a sense of journalistic duty. It pours a decent looking orange amber but with a fizzy macro-lager like head of foam. The aroma is sweet sugary caramel - too sweet but not so different from other ambers I've had. Medium to light bodied with a prickly carbonation. The taste of this isn't half bad, starting with a sweet caramel hit, then cardboard/crackery malts and a dry very very light hop finish. I'd say it's within the normal range of an amber. Not good but a passable version of a pretty dull style in my opinion. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
