Description
First brewed in August 2008. A 5BBL plant was used. The brewery closed in Spring 2023, with the site being sold to the owners of Harwich Town Brewing Company and Witham Brewery who set up Wharf Brewery.
Some Red Fox beers are now made by Wharf. These should be rated under Wharf.

cask ... yellow amber .... bubbly white head ... light brigth lemon ... sweet lemon hop ... little resins ... quite bitter.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Black with ruby edges, no head. Decent dark beer, some diacetyl. Not one of the better milds.

Cask handpull at The New Wheatsheaf, Borough on Kook crawl. Gold colour, bit of haze, no real head, farty yeast and some citrus fruit. Not very good or interesting.

Cask @ 3 Judges. Amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts and some fruits. Flavour of biscuit malts, fairly bitter. Medium bodied. Finish is fairly dry and bitter.

RBESG Sheffield, day 2, Hillsborough Hotel. Cask. Dark reddish brown colour, no head. Aroma of sour roasted malts. Flavour is grassy, vegetable, bit of alcohol, raisins, though not sweet. Bit of sour roastedness in the finish. Not in very good condition I guess...

Cask (handpump) @ Hillsborough Hotel, 54-58 Langsett Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S6 2UB.Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light to moderate burnt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090417]
