Pours clear dark brownish with light tan head. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, dough and some bananas. Flavor is sweet and malty with a slightly metallic finish. Creamy mouthfeel with lots of carbonation. Medium body. Very nice dubbel.

Cloudy, straw-yellow body under a medium, white cap. Mild spicy aroma. Sweet fruity taste with a touch of wheat and herbs. Soft, dry and fresh. Light palate and easy to drink (sampled at Belgian Beer Fair, Oslo 10.04.2008)

Metallic aroma. Ubiquitous pale yellow american beer color with just a touch of haze once you get near the bottom of the bottle. Volatile dizzying initial impact inside the mouth. Much more than I expected in the alky flavors department. Nice carbonation thru out the session. For some reason, reminds me of Chimay Blue. I think I’ll stick to Corsey Brown. A little crestfallen over this bottle.

I’m glad that this is already on Ratebeer because neither the importers label nor the regular label revealed the brewer. In a particularly funny way, the importer’s label stated the brewer’s name as "Brewed for N.C.M.A, Deurne". Nice. Someone’s knowledge of English is seriously lacking. The GTIN confirms that this is brewed for Corsendonk though. All in all, this was bottled, 0.25l I think so that mighte explain why I’m gonna go completely against the grain here. This was filtered... poured a slightly hazy yellow colour with a medium sized thick white head that took its time to go away... very lively carbonation. Noooot very promising. The nice spicy (coriander I guess) and agrumey nose fixed the impression a bit. The taste, however, didn’t. Light, completely one dimensional. Quite agrumey (slightly reminding me of detergent but not too much), refreshing, but in the end, just dull. The finish is watery... bit chalky with a certain odd dull taste that just might come from hops. Reminiscent of juice and I guess it could be enjoyed on a warm summer day that way... until you get tired of it and switch back to Hoegaarden. All in all, colour me unimpressed. No wonder that Corsendonk and the real brewer decided to remain "anonymous", but it’s not the worst wit you can buy.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, and with lacing tan head. Aroma is yeasty, caramel malt and a light fruity note. Flavour is dark malty, caramel and with a light spiced note. A solid fruity flavour takes over before the finish. Fruity and yeasty spiced finish. Light bitterness and a lingering fruity note. Reminds a lot about Wetvleteren 8/12, lovely.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of apricots, citrus (orange, lemon) and spicy hints of coriander. Fruity, spicy and fairly clean taste with orange, lemon, coriander and earthy, spicy hops in the finish. Clean, spicy, tasty and surprisingly dry tripel. Nice one. (7/3/7/4/14=3.5) Rerate: (Bottle, 6 June 2020) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, pineapple, candy sugar, apricots, lemon peel and coriander. Fruity, malty taste with dried fruit, tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus, peaches, coriander and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Really tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

Bottle at home ... Bright golden orange ... bright orange quite yeasty nose ... quite fizzy ... again yeasty ... light fruity and full of flavour... well balanced.

330 ml bottle. Almost clear deep mahogany body with a huge but disappearing beige head. Great aroma of slightly roasted malt, dry fruit and caramel. Flavor is sweet malt, candy sugar, prunes and surprisingly little alcohol. Very easy to drink, great flavor and well balanced brew.
