On tap @ the brewpub. Pours dirty brown with mocha head and spotty lacing. The aroma seems to be chocolate, black licorice, roasted malts and molasses. The taste has an initial pulse of earthiness and chocolate malts. It seems a bit like a chocolate brownie for a moment of two. I then get black licorice mixing with faint lactose notes just beyond midway. Toward the finish chocolate notes take this puppy to closure. It starts a bit disjointed but ends very very nice.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours dark amber with infra red edges and thin tan head. The moderate aroma emits roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and mild oxidation notes. The taste has a brief pulse of black strap molasses followed by earthiness, highly roasted to burnt malts and some coffee grounds. Before the coffee really picks up steam I get mild notes of chocolate malts and the faintest oxidation note. Very light astringency leaves this beer more neutral than dry.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours crystal clear copper with lasting off white head. The aroma is sweet crystal malts, citrus to spicy to floral hops and just a sense of oxidation or maybe just a note or two of earthy like hops. The taste is caramely sweet with even more sweetness coming from crystal malts. There’s also some pleasing levels of floral to spicy hops too. The hops lead into grapefruit, tangelo and more floral hops beyond midway and into the finish creating a nice balance with the sweetness.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours clear deep gold with white head. The aroma is modest and carrying tangelo to apricot – mango hops, some floral notes and a background of sweet malts. The taste is smooth and pretty mild with a pleasing pulse of both floral to spicy hops and smooth sweet malts. It has ample hop bitterness moving midway and to the finish with floral and tangelo hops. Wow. Super smooth brew. Tastes and feels like 5% ABV.

On tap @ the brewpub. Pours slightly hazy gold with thin bright white head. The aroma has a pleasing mix of floral and earthy hops mixing with sugary malts. The taste is fresh crisp floral and spicy hops. Solid! It also has a mild sweet malty backbone. Refreshing and darn tasty brew great for summer (or any day).

IMAXX per the appended beer menu - Apollo hops are featured in this well balanced Imperial IPA. - On tap at the brewpub. This 9.0% ABV brew pours deep gold to copper with lasting bright white head and moderate lacing. It has a solid aroma of mango, tangelo and apricot with lighter hints of pine and sweet maltiness. For the style it is smooth and very easy drinking, dangerously so! I get thick rich malts mingling well with pine, grassy and grapefruit hop bitterness. The hop level is spot on for the style, i.e. not pushing the envelope in an envelope pushing style. Frikin’ tasty though.

Tap at Bistro DIPA festival. Light amber color with a slight off-white head. Nice piney aroma. Strong resin flavor over malt. Could be a touch of citrus. It is harshly lush! Get it if you can. Wonderful clean hop finish.

Draft. Golden beer with a nice off-white head. Light summer fruit/grapefruit aroma. Light summer fruit flavor with light astringency. Lighter bodied - too watery. Light summer fruit lingers with light grain. Astringent. 2009 version much better with more body and no astringency.
