375 ml bottle, thanks to ClarkVV. Aroma is nice rum, and light oak tannins. The tannic oak follows through in the flavor. I guess Barreled Souls has ruined me for a lot of BA brews. This is below average.

Bottled Jan 2023, drunk 12/8/24. Clear medium amber. Light beige head to spotty cover. Big rum with spice and floral notes and toffee and caramel. Round red fruits and a hint of vanilla with lingering bread and barrel tannin. Red fruit, floral rum and cane sugar with fruity toffee and almost a tartness. Medium-full body, high attenuation. The rum treatment is well-done. Maybe a bit too much classic bready Barleywine malt character, though.

CX draught, 12/6/24. Clear. Dark. Garnet highlights. Small tan head quickly to ring. Lots of char, oak, bourbon and tannin. Coconut and hints of pineapple. Light licorice and maybe a hint of alcohol. Vanilla is light, passing. Seems a bit lacking in sumptuous, deep malts, based on the nose... Rich, strong, very bourbon-forward, very dry, lots of oak and the vanilla is floral and dry too, exacerbating this. Good flavors all around, but ultimately it's too dry and lacks the malt depth the style demands to balance all of these dry, spicy, big flavors.

CX draught, 12/6/24. Clear dark cola-maple. Small, beige head, slowly to cover. A bit beany, with fruity coffee notes, earth, toast and scant base malt. Spicy and herbal hops accentuations. Clean, crisp, mildly hoppy with no real dark malt presence but just a shade less malt depth than I'd like. But the crisp yeast and hop on the finish goes a long way. Good attenuation. Very clean.

CX draught, 12/6/24. Clear dark amber-dark maple. Small, light tan head, steadily to spotty cover. This smells like a soured imperial stout with excellent malt depth producing fudge and chocolate, moderate bourbon spice with vanilla and low tannin. No booze, super low acidity. Barely any in the nose. Juicy, rich, chocolate fudge, brandy vanilla and hints of drier, but rich and elegant sherry. Fantastic malt depth and comfort to balance the low amount of lactic acidity. Lingering raisin, fudge, vanilla and bourbon spice. Low tannin, no alcohol. Wow, Lamplighter almost never misses on sours any more...

CX draught, 12/6/24. Clear dark blackberry-violet. Small, deep-pink head quickly to edge. Tart fruity acids but it doesn't smell sugary. Shame they used concentrate, but it doesn't smell cheap or fake. Bit of malt behind it and maybe a touch of lactic character. Sweet and malty up front with the juicy concentrate balancing the moderate lactic, light oak and very minor acetic elements. Have to admit, I was skeptical but the concentrate works well here for balance where whole fruit may have just caused the beer to be too dry and acidic.

Can (looks like 6/13/24 but hard to tell dot matrix) from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Deeply hazy orange-yellow with tons of sparkle, nice head with excellent retention and light lacing. Aroma is guava, melon and citrus, as advertised. Taste is strong citrus, guava and biscuit. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and dry, moderately bitter finish. Aroma bests taste. Would have liked a little less bitterness.
