Taster pour at Craft Beer Race New Haven. Appearance is hazy-to-cloudy caramel brown with small ring of head with mild lacing, mild sparkle. Aroma is floral, almost perfumey, with hint of ginger. Taste is strong ginger over malt base, some fruity hop taste/bitterness. Palate is light bodied with thin-to-average texture, soft carbonation, and citrusy bitter finish. Overall, ginger dominant but has some complexity around it so it’s not just a one-trick pony.

Taster pour at Craft Beer Race New Haven. Appearance is nice dark brown, virtually opaque, with beige head, no lacing/sparkle. Aroma is brown sugar, malts. Taste is roasted malts with nuts, brown sugar. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, perfect average-to-lively carbonation and finish like taste. Overall, this is a nice brown ale with aroma/taste that indeed conjures up granola. Good.

Draught at Doherty’s, 6/26/16.
Light ebony-to-dark mahogany with a high clarity and large, dark beige head atop showing moderately strong retention.
Dark roasted malts mix with light prune, plum and other dark berry-like notes giving a very strong dark malt/dark fruit element to the nose. Some base malt character adds light vanilla-cream to attempt to balance, while there’s a vague "Belgian" character underneath, which really just comes off as mostly bubble gum and clove. No alcohol or flaw.
Very heavy on the dark fruit, with lots of berry-like acidity mixing with oily, dark roast coffee flavors and bitterness. Some bready notes from the specialty malts as well as a bit of sweet caramel-vanilla to gently balance. Strong carbonation, medium-tight with no alcohol or flaw. Again with the light cotton candy and/or bubble gum. Very Americanized/inelegant on the yeast profile with way too much dark malt/specialty malt character.

Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus, bready wheat. Taste is a mild citrusy wheat ale. With a wheaty and kind of bready finish. Nothing really spectacular. Just refreshing.

12 oz. can purchase at Spruce Creek Provisions, Kittery. Somewhat hazy yellow color. Aroma has mild grapefruit, weak wheat. Flavor is a balance of a wheat backbone and a lightly tart grapefruit finish. Texture is dry from grapefruit pith. Carbonation is spirited over the palate. Overall, it’s an easy to drink Spring / Summer ale.

12 oz. can purchased at 7 Eleven Kittery, ME. 3-28-2016, freshie yo! Appearance is dark Amber with standard carbonation level. Aroma is mostly ginger root with a mild hint of grass.
The flavor is mostly ginger with notes of mild lingering grassy hints. The finish is very herbal. I knew what I was buying with this brew. Body is medium with a very herbal character. Not bad if you like ginger.

12 oz. can purchased at 7 Eleven Kittery, ME. Appearance is hazy golden color, lasting head. Aroma is nice hints of rye, fresh grapefruit and lemon hoppy hints. Fresh
Flavor is just as fresh as the aroma. Grapefruit right upfront with the rye grain center. Spiciness from the rye shows with a mild bitterness. Moderate. The body is lighter to medium with a great crisp aftertaste. Very nice.
